"Firstly a couple of thing to be aware of: The hotel is on the final approach to Heraklion airport. It is approximately twenty kilometres away, that said you definitely hear the planes, although it is not an issue. Secondly, the refilling of the tea/coffee is quirky.There was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Some days they provided tea and coffee refills, other days they did not. The only ever supplied enough milk for the Nespresso pods. We took some powdered milk and extra pods, which was not an issue. The hotel, really relaxing. Location, superb. Facilities great, what was excellent, the hotel is on four sides with the pool in the middle of the quad. Given the north wind which can be an issue in Crete, this was great, even when the wind was blowing, it was still around the pool. The staff, all really helpful, prepared to go the extra mile, particularly the guys/girls on reception. The room, great Food consistently good. We took advantage of our complimentary meal at the a la carte restaurant, first class. So, yes it is well worth going."

Super friendly welcome from Giorgos and an amazing breakfast delivered to the room to enjoy on our balcony."

"I had an amazing spa experience at Aelius Hotel & Spa by Lavris. It was one of the highlights of my stay! A very special thank you to Emma, who is an absolutely incredible massage therapist. It honestly felt like she knew my body better than I did. She instinctively found all the areas that needed attention and “adjusting” without me having to say a word. At the same time, her touch was incredibly gentle, making the whole treatment deeply relaxing. Throughout the massage, I felt completely cared for and able to switch off and unwind. Emma’s skill, intuition, and professionalism made this one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I highly recommend the spa services at Aelius Hotel & Spa by Lavris, and if you have the chance, be sure to book a treatment with Emma. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!"

"Hotel pool area was good, pool very deep with no markings to indicate. Drinks served in small plastic cups that had a horrid smell. (Would advise to buy a cup for your drinks) food was minimal and not very good. Chips were cold most of the time. All cola etc is local so didn’t taste great. Rooms are ok but shower water all over the place as very small but very powerful. Balcony was directly in front of the restaurant so not very relaxing to get ready and sit down. Staff were great. Malo (I think) on reception was lovely. Entertainment was very minimal and cheap but staff did their best with what they had. Would not visit again but overall an ok trip."

"My wife, daughter and I recently stayed here for a week long relaxing break. The weather was still stunning despite being towards the end of October and the end of holiday season. The apartment was great for what we needed with a young baby and is in a fantastic location with restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk and the beach 10 minutes walk away (if that). The pool was relaxing and easy to get a spot to relax. We had breakfast there a few times which was excellent and also some snacks and drinks. Hospitality was second to none with all staff extremely friendly and welcoming. The other thing worth noting is is was excellent value for money. I don’t often think that these days!"

"Great family-run hotel that offers good quality food, quiet*, calm accommodation and a friendly welcome. The rooms and gardens are clean, modern and well maintained. The pool is a good size with plenty of sunbeds and seating. As a solo, female traveller I felt safe and well cared for. The beach is an easy walk of only about 150m. The hotel also offers a fabulous massage and reflexology service run by Stamatis - I indulged in a number of treatments during my stay and I highly recommend him and his assistant. *The hotel is on the arrival path to Heraklion airport so if aircraft bother you then please be aware."

"Our flight was very delayed, and even though check-in was until 9:00 PM, they checked us in at 1:00 AM without any problems. We booked a room with access to the pool, but they upgraded us to a villa with a private pool. Thank you so much for this! Thanks to this, our two days in Crete were amazing. They also left dinner in our room so we could eat after a long flight. The villa is huge and spacious, the pool was warm, and the room was very stylish. The beach is just a 2-minute walk away. The food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner was simply amazing. There was unlimited wine."

Included Gluten free advice and real choices for us all. We were there for a week, and we can highly recommend! We had a 2 bedroom suite for a family and it was ideal for our family of 4 with teenagers, girl and boy who didn't want to share a room. We all had our space and enjoyed a balcony too. The facilities were extensive, including a games room, pools and evening entertainment 3 nights of the week we were there. It was a wonderful holiday and we would love to return. Crete itself is warm friendly and so welcoming. Fairly priced everywhere you go. So much to see and do on the island. We needed longer than a week to explore and we highly recommend the car hire service available from the hotel reception. Very friendly staff and helpful with all our queries."

"From the moment we arrived at 3am, we were greeted with the most warmest of welcomes! The apartment, was spacious and modern, plus a bottle of water was left in the fridge for us so we could have a drink when we got there. Joanna, the morning bar lady was brilliant, and she remembers everyone's name! George was the evening barman and he was amazing! Remembers everyone's drink and will go out of his way to make a cocktail of your choice. Breakfast had a really good choice of everything, and there is a lunchtime menu, which is very reasonable. The location is very quiet with only a few restaurants and a small supermarket within walking distance. Most of restaurants have their area on the beach, if you buy a drink (waiter service) you don't pay for the sunbeds! However if you walk about a mile along the coast path, it is a little bit more lively, with a selection of bars, restaurants, shops and water sports activities. We will definitely come back again!"
