"We have been visiting Haltern am See, as well as the Ratshotel on numerous occasions, always with great pleasure. This time we tried to reserve our favourite room for 9 nights. Unfortunately the hotel was fully reserved but only on the Saturday. This was the reason why we needed to move already out after 5 nights and had to relocate to Recklinghausen for four nights, as there was no rooms in Haltern available on the Saturday. Food for Thought! It would be more beneficial, not to accept reservations on Saturday for one night only, but possibly for three or four nights to maximise your revenue and be of service for longer staying guests. Rates quoted should NOT change, with the changes of dates for longer periods ! Otherwise services and facilities are great as usual! Thank you"

"I have often stayed at this absolute gem of a hotel. Definitely the best place in the wider area. Modern, bright and spacious rooms, clean and fitted out perfectly. Great showers, comfortable beds. The restaurant is top class. The menu changes frequently with some signature dishes remaining and everything is cooked and prepared to perfection. You get local and international dishes. Excellent, creative chefs. Thats something rare in Westfalia. (I know because I grew up there). The Pfeiffer family and their team are wonderful, friendly, competent and couldn’t do enough for you. And all that for very reasonable prices. I can highly recommend this place."

"High-quality food, large portions, in a very pleasant atmosphere. Attractive hotel centrally located in the small town of Haltern. I accompanied my husband on his business trip. Our room was clean and spacious. There is no elevator in the building, which was not a problem for us, but may be important for some. We enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet together. There was nothing to be desired. I tried the lunch menu alone and was delighted with the value for money. There were 4 different dishes, each of which included a soup of the day and a dessert. We only ate dinner once. Our dishes were beautifully presented and were large portions. I couldn't finish mine, although I really enjoyed it. The hotel is in the middle of town, I could go shopping and take a walk on foot. A little further away, easily accessible by car, bus or bike, is Lake Haltern and is worth a trip. It was a little cold when we visited, but there is also a lovely hotel/restaurant outdoor terrace. There are parking spaces right outside the door."
