"It is the best hotel I’ve ever been. Staff is polite, adorable and helpful. Spa zone is awesome. Relaxation zone is cool too. Cubicles are comfortable and quiet. Common area is also great. If I could live there a month I would have done it. Highly recommend!"

"Lots of good, one bad for me that really impacted the score. Rooms are recently refurbished, large spacious and well equipped. USB-C sockets everywhere, along with all the expected toiletries that most other hotels stopped providing a while back - vanity kit, hair bands, sewing kit, razor, etc. etc. Beds are hard and pillows too soft but this is normal for Japan. What really killed it for me was an unknown, unwritten surcharge for use of the onsen (public bath), swimming pool and gym. Not only was this an additional 1650yen per person, but this is a per-day fee and the same for a child irrespective of age. To top it off the swimming pool was out of action due to maintenance all 4 nights we stayed, and the onsen itself holds 4 only and has a single hot bath and has yet to be refurbished to any kind of standard equivalent to the rooms. This soured the entire experience adding an additional 3300x4 fee to our stay. I wouldn't normally pay but this was a trip I'd promised my son for some time and he adores onsen. So how could I let him down?"

"I found this hotel by accident and booked it for several days. After I arrived, I found that it was indeed very stylish and tasteful. The shower gel in the hotel is the best-smelling shower gel I have ever used, no doubt about it! The hotel's service staff is very professional and you can feel their proactive service. I originally stayed in a hotel next door, but this hotel was quieter, so I finally chose a different one."

"I had read in a review that the exterior of the hotel was old, so I was prepared for that, and I wasn't particularly surprised. The lounge in the lobby was stylish and had a resort hotel feel. The room seemed to have been renovated, and was a beautiful Japanese-Western style room with a lake view. Having a Japanese-style room was convenient because you could spread out your luggage freely. The toilet and bathroom were separate, so you could line up your toiletries at the sink, which was helpful. The large baths are in different buildings, but they are connected by a simple corridor, which was nice, but it felt a little cold as it seemed like the outside air was coming in along the way. There were several baths in the hot spring, and there were a fair number of washing areas, so there was no waiting, which was nice. The meal was a buffet. We had it at the restaurant on the second floor of the hot spring. We happened to be with a group of two companies for dinner, but we were informed of this at check-in, so we were prepared, and there were no particular problems. It felt like the food was a cut above the rest, not the usual cheap buffet. We were able to get hot tempura in the live kitchen, which was delicious, but as there were a lot of people and the place was full, it was a bit long to wait for the food. The breakfast was quite crowded, but I was able to pick it up normally and the taste was satisfactory. The specialty meringue* rice was delicious. One thing I wish they could have improved is the size of the yukata, which was mentioned in a review on another site. The yukata is very short. I think it's better to have a short yukata, but maybe it's a little too short? I think there are probably a lot of people who try on a yukata that is their usual size, but it's too short, so they have to change into a yukata that is one size larger. If that happens, it will be a waste of laundry, even from an eco-friendly point of view. Also, the yukata was a little too thin. I think it would be better if they improved the yukata issue. I was surprised that the hotels around Lake Hamana were very crowded. I think it will be even more crowded during the high season such as summer vacation."

"As mentioned in other reviews, the room cleaning was disappointing... there was dirt on the air conditioner and hair. The hot cocoa and matcha latte at the buffet were also disappointing."

Hotel Harvest Hamanako Hotels in Hamamatsu

"To be honest, it felt a bit worn out. However, the view of Lake Okuhama is nice, there's a large public bath, the rooms are spacious, and for 14,000 yen for a lakefront Japanese-Western style room with breakfast for one night for single occupancy, I thought it was a reasonable price. The poor service from the staff that was mentioned in past reviews seems to have improved, and I didn't have any particular problems. I had a fancy lunch, so I didn't think I could finish a course dinner at the hotel restaurant, and I didn't include dinner in my reservation, but there was a vending machine corner in the building with snacks and instant noodles, which I used conveniently. By the way, there are no convenience stores nearby. The breakfast seemed to have been recently renovated and was at the level of a city hotel. However, it was disappointing that the only dish available was French toast, despite it being called a "live kitchen." A normal live kitchen would have a lineup of omelets, fried eggs, and eggs Benedict, right? Also...the grout between the floor tiles in the bathroom in my room was covered in mold. I used the public bath, so I didn't mind the bathroom in my room, but it was still a bit too unsanitary. Since most guests use the public bath, the cleaning of the in-room baths might be a bit haphazard. While there were a few drawbacks, the great view more than made up for it, hence the 3-star rating."

"[Accommodation fee] 1 night, 2 meals. 119,250 yen/3 people. Japanese-Western style room with tea room living room (maximum 4 people) [Comments] I made a reservation online at the beginning of April. Please note that cancellation fees will be charged from 21 days before. It was a one-night trip with my elderly mother. It is just a short walk from Kanzanji SIC, past the zoo. Right in front of you, across the road, is the Hamana Lake and Kanzanji ropeway. The front entrance is not large, but there is a tea incense burner burning on the path to the front desk, and a pleasant smell is floating around. The front desk is on the third floor, and first of all, I make a reservation for the local "Bicharaku Hospitality" new tea tasting experience. I had a little time, so I went to the large public bath. I was able to relax in the indoor and outdoor baths separated by glass. There was also a quiz during the new tea tasting experience, which was fun. I then went to "Onsen Iroha". At the end of the class on the quality of the spring water and how to bathe, you can drink "amazake" (sweet sake) which is also available in the refrigerator in your room for a fee. You can also get a "yu-in book", but I wonder how much it will cost to complete the collection. Dinner from 5:30 p.m. is a kaiseki meal in a semi-private room. The hot food is hot, the cold food is cold, everything is delicious, and the staff are very attentive to your needs. In the evening, we had "ochake". They also had non-alcoholic drinks. Our room was on the sixth floor, but we could see the whole view of Oku-Hamanako Lake right in front of us, and we could see the ropeway and the lights of the Hamana Lake SA in the distance. The bathroom only has a shower, but we didn't use it because we went to the large bath three times. Furoshiki (Japanese-style cloth) was also prepared and we were allowed to take it home, so we touched it up and it has now become our "noren" (curtain curtain). Tea is provided for "relaxation sencha" when you arrive, "good night sencha" before going to bed, and "awakening sencha". The large bath is alternated between men and women. The morning bath was an open-air bath with tea balls floating in a large wooden barrel. There was no view, but this was also satisfying. Before breakfast, we did tea picking exercises. And breakfast was at the same table, and the miso soup was delicious. Everything was worth the price."

"It is a 5-minute walk from Hamamatsu Station and can be seen right after exiting the station. The room is of good size and the 1.8-meter bed is rare in Japan. The hotel provides a large bathroom, and there is a secret room for ladies, which is very private. I went to take a bath, and it was so comfortable for me alone. The breakfast is very rich, with many styles, and eel rice. In the evening, drinks and snacks are also provided. The service staff is very good, and their English is the most standard and fluent I have heard in recent days. The famous Hamataro Izakaya is a 3-minute walk from the hotel. It would be perfect if the hotel could provide bottled drinking water."

"The room was clean and the location allowed for a quiet stay. I used Hamamatsu Station for transportation, and it was relatively close, allowing me to relax until just before my Shinkansen departure. It's also close to the bar district, and the accommodation fee is reasonable, making it a very convenient hotel for business trips. There are no smoking areas nearby, so it might be a little inconvenient for smokers."

"This is the most comfortable hotel I have stayed at in Japan for a week. The landlady is very welcoming and the hot spring is very clean. Especially the included breakfast and dinner are very rich. I feel that I can pay for the room with one meal. It is very good and recommended."

HOTEL MEIJIYA Hotels in Hamamatsu

HOTEL MEIJIYA

"I had a very pleasant stay. My room was upgraded, and since they were also hosting a group, they informed me of the available breakfast times in advance. I also used the bath on the top floor twice, once in the evening and once in the morning. Everything I needed was there, and the timing was perfect, so I had it all to myself. The men's and women's baths are switched, and shampoo and other amenities are replaced at the same time. This is the first time I've seen such a thoughtful hotel. The women's bath has an electronic lock, which is another great feature. Breakfast is a set menu rather than a buffet, and I think preparing enough for each person reduces food waste, which I preferred. When I requested a shuttle to Hamamatsu Station in the morning, the driver asked whether I wanted the north or south exit, and he took me to the south exit, which is close to the Shinkansen ticket gates. It's a little far from the station, so it might be difficult with a large suitcase, but the comfortable stay more than made up for it."

"For English speakers, just check the video and you will know how noisy the central air -conditioner is. The reception just told me every room is as noisy as that, just above the bed whole night.
