"We had a 2 night stay at the Alma! Such a lovely place, rooms were amazing. Comfortable, clean and very quirky. We had breakfast included too. Full English! Couldn’t fault it. "Just an overnight stay to take the early ferry to Hoek van Holland turned into a bit more when we got sick. The staff was very friendly and supportive and made the extra day as pleasant as possible. Loved the quirkiness of the Alma Inn itself and enjoyed the old town of Harwich with a surprisingly interesting history. Perhaps come back for a weekend stay or something?!"

"Now under new ownership, things have changed, for the better. The lady in reception could not do enough for us.  We were offered several rooms to choose from which is very rare. The secure parking area was shown to us, the gate opened and then shown from there to our room. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom. Very polite, very friendly and excellent value for the money. So glad the pub has gone, it was a bit loud but now 9t was lovely and quiet. A good nights sleep was had by us both and we will always use this place when travelling via ferry. For us, although it’s not a five star hotel, for what we were given and the friendliest welcome it gets a 5 star review from us."

"Had one room for one night in July. The hotel is conveniently situated near shops etc with good parking around it. It si afew minutes from the "beach" ie the sea. There is a a nearby indoor pool and plenty of restuarants in the town if you dont want to eat in the pub. It was quiet in the room on the 1st floor. The room itself was well equipped and very comfortable. The air con was very good in this summer heatwave, The only downside is that thsi room and i susupect one other had no windows just a skylight so it felt very claustrophobic.Reception and servcie etc was via the bar and no issues really. I would stay again - it was a good rate."
