"Our third stay at The Feversham Arms Hotel.  We were allocated a pool suite which was excellent.  Apparently the hotel is up for sale, the administrators have been brought in.  Hopefully the new owners will be found and after a few tweaks here and there the hotel will be five stars."

The Feathers Hotel, Helmsley, North Yorkshire

"Deluxe room was clean but very small. Twin beds were inches apart from each other with no room to move further apart. Meals were only adequate, the main courses we had both chosen from the evening menu weren’t available, sold out by 7pm, so we had to select alternatives, which were less than inspiring. Altogether a rather disappointing experience"

"We had a ovely welcome, and spent the night in a good comfortable room. We ate supper in the pub, and had a really good meal. The only problem was the loud voices from the pub filtered upwards until quite late. They don't do breakfast, but there are several options just a short walk away."

"Excellent location and parking and close to the town centre. Good quality ingredients at breakfast. Comfortable clean beds and quiet rooms. Carol the host is so welcoming and helpful. A lovely 2 night stay in Helmsley."
