"Spent three nights at the chateau and it was a most unique experience . This is not really a hotel as such but rather like time travelling to a country house from a different era where you are an honoured guest. The chateau is full of art - murals , ceramic and paintings - some by the owners. It will for sure not be to everyone’s taste - if you like modern , sleek, TV in room etc this is not for you but if you’re interested in art and history and have a sense of the romantic and the quirky then this is a perfect getaway. Breakfast is fine and just enough and you get to sit in the beautiful dining room every morning. There is also an honesty bar where you can try the excellent wines from Domaine Raissac plus free tea and coffee. The grounds are enormous and there is plenty of space to find your own corner in the quiet garden to relax in. The pool area is also great. Dinner options are limited but it is possible to order cheese and charcuterie platters and some small warm dishes on request. Very nice. Monika the host is an incredible person who makes you feel so welcome and can’t do enough to make sure you are having a comfortable stay . She is a true superstar and I hope the owners really appreciate her. She is a very special lady x"

"The village is to-die-for charming. Yet, even though the locals seem pretty chilled about half of their village being painted purple for the European glitterati, you can't help on occasion feeling like an extra in a Truman Show-esque experiment. Vis those rooms, the biggest and most expensive (prestige cuvee) have flaws. Namely that they're very dark, compounded by the fact the windows face straight onto the street necessitating having the curtains closed the whole time. The "private terrace" is redundant, being as it is right in the street - passers by often pause for a rest in your chairs. And for folks in a new relationship, these rooms would be downright awkward! You sit on the loo in front of a big glass door directly facing the bed. And so there you sit, all lit up in purple as you execute your holiest of holies. Conversely, the next room tier down, vintage cuvee, are on the first floor with huge windows you can throw up open to enjoy the glorious views, and some have rolltop baths in the bedroom. Much better. There were a few niggles - hot food and fresh fruit should NOT run out half hour before breakfast closes in a hotel of this calibre - but otherwise it's quite a magical experience. For a while, at least. My takeout is that if one were to visit for a night or two as part of a road-trip around the Languedoc, then this would be a memorable stopover. But as a destination, the undeniable quirkiness and uniqueness wears off pretty quickly, leaving one wanting for a more traditional hotel experience."

Nearby pastry shop — There’s a great pastry shop close by. Cons: Limited parking — Parking was limited during check‑in, and we ended up parking at the electric vehicle charging spot."

"This was my third time staying at Zenitude La Valadière, Ascend Hotel Collection, and during this visit, I finally got to use the hotel’s swimming pool, which had not been available on our previous stays. It was nice to see it open at last, even though the daily opening hours felt a bit short and somewhat limiting if you had a full day planned outside. The room itself was quite typical—comfortable enough and familiar in that practical hotel-apartment style. Nothing especially luxurious, but everything worked as expected and made for an easy stay. What remained consistent from my earlier visits was how smooth the overall experience felt. Both the parking and the check-in process were straightforward and stress-free, which is always appreciated after a day of travel. Overall, Zenitude La Valadière continues to feel like a reliable stop in the area—simple, practical, and increasingly pleasant now that the pool is finally part of the experience."
