First, the room door: it's connected to the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the curtains, perhaps for aesthetic reasons, cover the door as well. To open the door, you have to pull open half of the curtain, exposing the entire room to the outside, where there's a tea-drinking area for guests. How awkward and inconvenient! Why not just change the curtains so they can be pulled from the door? The bathroom looks nice, with double sinks, but the lighting is terrible. Except for the reflection in the mirror, everything else, like the countertop, is brightly lit. The light behind the mirror is just for ambiance; none of the lights actually illuminate the face. The bathroom is open-plan, and the shower room has no door, not even a curtain. The floor is wet after showering. To make matters worse, the water temperature was only in the 20s on the day we checked in. After contacting the plumber, he came and confirmed that the boiler showed only 30 degrees Celsius, saying the temperature had dropped and he would adjust it. Isn't this kind of basic mistake a management problem? We had already showered, and the 20-degree water in the doorless shower room was freezing! Even guesthouses costing 200+ yuan can guarantee hot water for showers, let alone the one I paid over 1000 yuan for. The receptionist was clueless, though honest. I asked her if the hotel had a butler service—just adding her on WeChat so we could contact each other anytime—and she looked blankly at me, saying no, as if she'd never heard of that concept. I figured it was fine, it was only for one night anyway. But then there were so many problems in the room, and no internal phone. I had to contact the hotel through my Ctrip booking. Later, I found a sign on the bedside table with a phone number, saying to call that number if there were any problems, but no one had told me beforehand. I hope the hotel can improve; these things aren't hard to do. The restaurant food was pretty good and reasonably priced, which was what I liked most. Breakfast was also decent—clean and delicious, and there were two adorable cats. I hope the hotel's facilities and amenities match its beautiful exterior and view."
