"This dated place is expensive and without scheduled amenities, such as restaurant & bar open for breakfast or lunch. No housekeeping available for any length stay. Beds & furniture old & in need of replacement. The refrigerator sounded like it has a gas engine and erupted at all hours of the night. No water for coffee provided...worst mistake in 80 years of travel. Beautiful country but stay away from this dump."

"Service at DMI was top-notch; from reservation to check out, the DMI team was exceptional, especially Logan & Caigla. The stay was magical. The hike from the inn to the spectacular views at the lean-to was like a pleasant stroll on our own private mountain! On the day of check out we even got half foot of snow, a beautiful winter wonderland in the middle of April. I was contemplating the short 1/4 mile hike from Tuckaway to inn for the complimentary breakfast, they have the most delicious bagels, when my party announced they already have breakfast prepared (the kitchen here has everything you’ll need). DMI was most gracious and quickly got the driveway & roads plowed. We are grateful for a most enjoyable stay!"

"I never write reviews, but our experience at this hotel was really unfortunate. While I appreciate its proximity to the mountain, there are a few basic things that I would expect from a hotel that charges $500 a night. - the refrigerator in the room was making a loud humming sound. It took 3 hours for maintenance to arrive. They tried to fix it and could not. The noise stopped for some time and then my son woke us up at 5 AM because he could not sleep. We ended up turning the refrigerator off. In the morning maintenance came and said that this was normal refrigeration sound and we are just not used to sleeping with one in a room. I explained to him that we travel all the time and my kids sleep in the room with a kitchen and this is never a problem. He said he ll come back later.. not sure if he did, we went skiing and the noise was there when we returned. - you are given 4 pool towels- if you need more because you used them, you are out of luck.. there is no daily housekeeping in the room, and when I called the front desk they said the hotel is full and they don’t have towels and housekeeping is backed up. For almost $500 a night not to have enough towels!! - the pool is advertised as warm and it is far from that. While it might be ok with kids who are running around, it’s way too cold for leisure swim."

"The inn is elegant, spacious, full of texture, natural wood finishes and warmth (wood burning fire places in lounge, very nice gas fireplace in our bedroom and the 'attic' a place to play pool, board games, read, watch movies, complete with self service honor system wine bar. Each morning a breakfast spread in the lounge/dining hall is included, and not to be missed-fresh baked local goods, cheese, yogurt, granola, egg sandwiches, etc."
