Pandanus Beach Resort & Spa
"We stayed for 2 weeks in room 506 (more like a suite) on the top floor with a stunning beach view. Our room was kept scrupulously clean, well stocked with some lovely extras like bath robes and toothbrushes. The linen everywhere in the hotel smells like freshly washed laundry (not typical in most hotels) and bedding is luxurious. Special mention to Nirwan (our room assistant) The hotel itself is well kept and you constantly see maintenance working hard to ensure any issues are immediately attended too. My only suggestion here would be that the reception and outside verandah area is quite sparse and would benefit from some finishing touches such as plants and flowers (some did appear for a special event - The mixing of the Christmas cake - but were removed outside afterwards possibly due to the weather). The front desk staff were very helpful and money exchange is very efficient with good rates. We were on the all inclusive drinks package. Whilst there was enough on offer, no wine is included and cocktails are on the basic side. That said, the bar staff are excellent. Our wonderful bartender (Nimanthou) was very attentive and makes great cocktails! The food is incredible with a huge variety of choice although dinner service was too late for us (7:30 - 9:30). Chefs are constantly monitoring the serving dishes to ensure it is warm and plentiful. Freshly cooked eggs, omelettes etc are always available at breakfast and the chef is a delight - always smiling and keen to please . The food itself is in a separate air conditioned glassed area within the dining room which made a huge difference to the buffet experience. I have just 2 small suggestions for improvement here; I cannot drink caffeine and there were no other hot drinks available at breakfast apart from tea and coffee so maybe some decaf options such as fruit tea bags could be considered. Secondly, with such a vast offering of dishes it would be useful to have a (V) after vegetarian options so guests can go straight to them if required. Ultimately what takes this hotel from a very good to excellent rating is the staff. They genuinely go above and beyond to deliver the very best customer experience especially in the dining room."
Temple Tree Resort & Spa
"So horrible resort, not enough air condition in the rooms, front office manager LAKSHI doesnt know how to treat customers. When we ask to fix the AC they said take the refund and leave the hotel, since they dont have any other rooms, attached images took at 4:30pm two hours after check in, whole day spoiled, placed an order for kid, served wrong food, what ever we ordered total order was wrong and spent more than hour to get back.i believe this comment will help some one to enjoy the day in another place."
AIDA The Queen Palace
"Great location this new hotel 3km out of Bentota but easily reachable. Nice large rooms, clean & comfortable & big beds. Very friendly fantastic staff great coffee shop & bar area. Beach front setting cannot be beaten- just booked another weeks stay here rather than moving on its that chilled n relaxed. I definitely recommend this hotel"
Ceylo Villas
"Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry plays a vital role in the country’s economy and global reputation. However, the industry also needs a reasonable level of oversight to ensure fair and transparent pricing. Experiences like being charged LKR 450 (around USD 1.5) for a simple boiled egg raise serious concerns. When basic food items are priced at such levels, it creates the perception that visitors—especially local tourists—are being taken advantage of. Interestingly, this particular outlet offers a very limited menu for local guests. While the staff are courteous and the service is good, pricing practices like this leave a strong impression of being unfair. Sri Lanka has immense potential as a world-class tourism destination. But protecting that reputation requires responsible pricing, transparency, and industry standards that prevent situations which could undermine trust in the sector. Fair value builds long-term tourism. Overpricing basic items risks damaging the very industry we are trying to promote. #SriLanka #Tourism #Hospitality #FairPricing #TourismIndustry #ceylo #boiledeggs #induruwa"
Jetwing Villa 700
"The surrounding area is remote and impoverished; you need to take a tuk-tuk to get food. The environment is quite nice, located on an Indian Ocean beach. It's relatively clean. It's small, without a reception desk, more like a villa-style guesthouse/hotel, and very quiet. The sound of the waves is very loud at night."
