Turtle Cove Lodge and Yoga Shala
"Maybe during the high season this is a better option. For a solo traveler the location was just far enough from the main town that you needed to consider your safety when walking back alone at night. I never had any problems but was very alert. The rooms are nice but rustic. My room was always warmer than the outside. The wifi didn't work and hotel staff seemed unbothered- not a solid option for remote workers. I was frustrated that when I went to retrieve my 1000 MTZ cash key deposit, I was told I couldn't have it back because they didn't have any cash. The deposit was applied to my food credit which was still less than the deposit and was told I could just order that amount in food. I wasn't hungry and did not want their food. That was a disappointing experience as cash is hard to get in Moz and I was relying on getting that 1000 MTZ back and paying with card. Menu had great veggie options but food orders could take a while to be completed. An iced coffee took over 45 minutes and was room temp."
Vista do Mar
"Great location, the Ocean ticked ever box but special mention must go to the wonderfull staff. Thank you."
Mozambeat Motel
"Mozambeat is a really nice motel around Tofo. It is from a walking distance (20min) from the beach and the town market. There only unfortunate thing is that the motel doesn’t have an equipped kitchen if you want to cook for yourself sometimes. But the amazing pool where you can chill all day definitely makes up for that ;). The staff is helpful and super friendly! Make sure to book a boat trip to the Pansy Island with Carlos and Mouzinho for an unforgettable day! You’ll go to the island, find pansy shells, starfish, see horses, drink fresh coconut and enjoy a delicious meal with traditional clothing. Thank you for our wonderful stay and the good vibes!"
Farol da Barra
"We had an amazing time in Mozambique! The house had a beautiful island vibe and was spotless throughout our stay. Julie, our host, was incredibly helpful, and her team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Mama Fielie kept the house clean daily and prepared fresh fruit for us with the help of Dominco, our fantastic butler. Nothing was ever too much for him—he was always ready to help with a smile. Julie and her team made sure our stay was truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!"
Sentidos Beach Retreat
"We came from Harare to travel to Mozambique, Inhambane via Nelspruit South Africa. Mozambique is beautiful and our seaside holiday was brilliant. We stayed at Praia Azul during out stay and used Sentidos Beach retreat to book our activities which included quad biking and deep sea fishing. We had been on the fishing trip and quad biking a year before with Sentidos and were well impressed with their staff and decided to use them again this year. The fishing trip this year was very disappointing as the guides were not very helpful and did not have any motivation to help us catch a fish. They did not have the correct fishing gear or knowledge on how to catch fish. The time of our fishing trip meant to be 6 hours, but we only fished for 2.5 hours before we were heading back. Whilst we were fishing, our wives were at the restaurant. To make matters worse their bill was equivalent to about $50 for a two very small omelettes, fruit juice, coffee and tea. 1 cups of basic tea was charged out at $4 which was a teabag in a pot of water. Unfortunately, tea was not shown on the menu and when we queried the charge, we were told teas are charged as iced tea charges. Explaining our concerns to the manager was met with a couldn't care less attitude. We were going to go on another trip with them cancelled to go with another company."
Casa do Capitao
"This hotel has major issues with their booking system. Specifically, we had an issue with our room booking (done through our company), and were hence moved into a different hotel for one night. We were promised that two rooms would be available the following day, but unfortunately there were again no rooms available. Whilst we do understand that errors happen, I do not expect this to happen twice in a row. I would hence not recommend attempting to stay at this hotel."
