"The room was spacious and incredibly close to the Zhangye Danxia Geopark (Rainbow Mountains) – you can just walk there. They have their own parking lot, which is a huge plus because you don't have to compete with tour buses for a spot in the park's crowded lot, and I heard exiting the park can cause long traffic jams. The service was prompt, and overall, it was a good experience. It's an established hotel, and it also marks the starting point of the Erga Highway."

"the owner was so friendly and helpful. they brought us to the entrqnce personally. i only found out that there were two main entrances when i arrived. The North and West entrance. I ended up staying at the West entrance. Not much activities at night. The North was a lot more shops and restaurants around the area. One thing I like was the quietness and the hospitality shown by the owner. They provide a lot of water and a fruit platter too. We walked to the entrance the next morning. Only took about 15 min. Problem is the shuttle busses were not so frequent in the morning session from the West gate. One point to consider. Other than that, this place is superb for less noise. Thank you."

"After comparing several accommodations for my trip to Zhangye Danxia, I chose Kaoshan Daying (Back Mountain Camp). The Starry Sky Yurt was what truly captivated me, and my entire stay exceeded expectations – highly recommended! Location-wise, the camp is right next to the West Gate of the Danxia scenic area, making travel incredibly convenient. No need for roundabout detours; I could step out early in the morning to catch the Danxia sunrise. This fantastic location also saved me a lot of effort when it came to stargazing at night. Now, let's talk about the Starry Sky Yurt. Before I arrived, I was a bit worried about roughing it in a tent out in the wilderness, but my stay completely changed my mind. The yurt was spotlessly clean and tidy, well-ventilated with no strange odors. The bed was soft and comfortable, and despite the large temperature swings in the Gobi Desert between day and night, the interior was well-insulated and never felt cold or damp. The en-suite bathroom was excellent, with 24-hour hot water and a full range of toiletries. It truly offered a luxurious wilderness experience that blended comfort with ambiance, without compromising on daily conveniences. However, the panoramic skylight at the top of the yurt was the real highlight and the biggest surprise of my trip. The camp is far from the city, meaning almost no light pollution. As night fell, the entire sky was unblocked and spread out above me. I didn't even have to step outside into the wind; I could lie in bed and gaze up at the countless stars. The Milky Way stretched clearly across the mountains, with stars so bright and dense – a magnificent night sky rarely seen in the city. Lying there quietly, watching the celestial river flow and listening to the distant Gobi breeze, all my travel fatigue slowly melted away. It was incredibly romantic and healing. The camp's amenities were also very thoughtful. In the evening, you can enjoy a starlit BBQ and hotpot. After dinner, there's a bonfire party. Then, after a stroll, you return to your yurt to continue enjoying the tranquil starry sky. The self-driving parking area is spacious, and RV resupply facilities are comprehensive. The staff were warm and meticulous in their service; they thoughtfully informed me of the best stargazing times and were always on hand to help with any issues. The unique Danxia mountain light show at night, coupled with the vast starry sky, created a multi-layered and stunning view. The special clear-broth suoyang hotpot was authentic and generously portioned, perfect for a hot meal after a day of exploring. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with friends, the Starry Sky Yurt is an exceptionally suitable choice. You can admire the Danxia landforms up close and immerse yourself in lying under the Milky Way – it perfectly combines natural beauty with comfortable accommodation. This is an unmissable gem when visiting Danxia, and I will definitely choose the Starry Sky Yurt again on my next trip to Zhangye."

"Our stay at Colorful Danxia Flower House Hotel was truly exceptional—easily a 5-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even personally helping us carry our luggage upstairs. His hospitality didn’t stop there—he kindly assisted us in booking tickets for a local show and even drove us there himself, which made our trip so much more convenient and enjoyable. The room was spotless, one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in, and it was clear that great care is taken to maintain high standards. We also really appreciated the free laundry service, which was incredibly helpful during our travels. The location is perfect—just a short walking distance to the west entrance of the Danxia park, making it easy to explore. Right across the hotel is a fantastic restaurant, so finding great food was effortless. To top it all off, the owner even prepared thoughtful departing gifts for us, which was such a warm and memorable touch. His kindness and attentiveness truly set this place apart. "Xinyuan Hotel is very close to the west gate of Colorful Danxia. When you leave the hotel gate in the early morning, you can see the lights with the two characters ”Ximen” on in the distance. It is good to go to the scenic spot early in the morning to watch the sunrise. There are restaurants opposite and next to the hotel, which is very convenient for eating. There is a bus stop not far away bound for Zhangye and Linze. Although the bus basically leaves once an hour, it is still relatively convenient. Especially the bus bound for Zhangye can stop at Zhangye West Railway Station, which is very convenient to catch the train. The hotel owner was very enthusiastic. Not only did he help us carry the suitcase upstairs, introduce us to the travel route, but he also gave us home-grown peaches. Since the Zhangye bus station temporarily canceled the 12:10 bus, we were very anxious to catch the train. After receiving our call for help, the hotel owner immediately contacted the bus driver and helped us catch the train. Here again, we would like to express our gratitude. The room facilities are okay, the bath water and toilet flush are relatively flush, the independent movable clothes rack can hang a lot of things to dry, there is a computer for Internet access, and two bottles of mineral water and disposable towels are also provided. It would be better if there was a cushion on top of the mattress, otherwise it would still be a bit uncomfortable to lie on the bed."

Environment: The surrounding area is decent, but the hotel's interior environment is truly amazing! Service: We almost missed our trip to the scenic area, but the owner personally drove us there – so incredibly welcoming. The next day, he even drove us to Kangle Grassland. "I visited Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park and stayed at Shiguang Manji, and I genuinely feel like I made a great choice, no regrets! It's incredibly close to the scenic area, just a 7-8 minute walk to the entrance. After watching the sunset, you don't have to bother with a long journey back, and the owner even offers free pickup and drop-off, which is a huge relief when returning after dark. The room was meticulously cleaned, every nook and cranny was spotless, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, making for a very comfortable stay. Given how dry it is in the Northwest, they provided a humidifier in the room, so my throat didn't feel dry when sleeping at night – that's a real bonus. After a day of walking, my legs were tired, and once I lay down on the bed, I didn't want to get up. The mattress was a zero-pressure type, quite comfortable to sleep on, and the smart home features were convenient. When I was too lazy to move, I could just use voice control, which is great for lazy people. The owner is very down-to-earth; they even made us 'San Pao Tai' tea upon check-in and offered local apricots to try. They also shared tips on how to best explore the scenic area and which observation deck offered the best sunset views for photos, without being pushy salespeople. Overall, it felt very comfortable. It's also convenient for dining and buying small items nearby. For anyone planning a trip to Zhangye Danxia, I highly recommend considering this place."
