Rest and relax at Jeff and Nodie's place. There is no other cottage with its spectacular view of the main lake.. The view of the water is the same whether you sit at the dining table looking through a sliding glass door, on the porch or around the stone fire pit. The newly renovated cottage has an open floor plan with a full kitchen and family room. The porch with an outside dining area is located directly off of the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with many amenities including a microwave, blender and an air fryer and is fully stocked with pots and pans. There are two newly decorated bedrooms. One has a queen size bed and the other has twin beds. In the family room there is a queen sofa bed. A full size washer and dryer are available if you need to wash during your stay. Jeff and Nodie's Place has WI-FI and Cable TV.There are a few charcoal grills as well as a gas grill for your outside grilling pleasure. An outside sink with hot and cold water is available as well.There is a private pier for your use with anchors for a boat and water toys. There is a NC Wildlife Boat Access Ramp less than a mile away. The cottage is located directly to the left as you leave the boat access area. For your outside enjoyment, there are 2 kayaks, a large water mat a cornhole game and life jackets. Enjoy swimming off of the pier. The water is approximately 5 ft directly in front of the pier. You can fish anywhere around the peninsula.Jeff and Nodie's Place is centrally located off of River Road. Each primary bedroom has lake views with a walk out balcony. The second living room includes a sofa bed that easily converts to a queen bed with additional sleeping for two. It is the last major impoundment on the Roanoke River, and offers excellent water quality and water level fluctuations that are less than one foot. It is 35 miles long and has over 350 miles of shoreline. Lake Gaston is within a three hour drive of Washington DC, an hour and a half to two hours from Raleigh North Carolina and Virginia Beach Virginia.Outside is where the real fun is! Our backyard leads right to the water and our boat dock, which is the center of lake life. The water off the dock is about 6 feet deep which is great for older kids and adults. Younger kids do well with the shallow water by the shore. Swimming, fishing, sunbathing (don’t forget the sunscreen), and relaxing all happen right there. It’s a great place to view the beautiful evening sky and sunsets. Skiing and tubing can be started right in front of the dock. Besides the water sports, fishing is excellent at Lake Gaston! Available species include striped bass, largemouth bass, crappie, perch, sunfish, and our favorite dinner fish, channel catfish. Fishing from the dock is a favorite pastime for both young and old alike. Early mornings and evenings are usually better, but when is fishing not good?Lastly, one of the best pastimes at the lake is RELAXING! Whether it be enjoying the view, reading a book, napping in the sun, soaking in the hot tub, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit at night, or mountain biking on the nearby trails. Conveniently located 1.5-2 hours from Raleigh, 1.45 from Richmond, 2 hours from Virginia Beach and only 3-4 hours from DC! The main lake is minutes by boat and great for water skiing, wake boarding, boating, fishing, jet skis and much more! Lake Gaston has 350miles of shoreline, 34miles long and 1.3 miles across at its widest point.We are specifically located on Pea Hill Creek. A quiet cove with direct access to the water from our private boathouse. Centrally located and close to grocery stores, restaurants and a boat launch. There is a miniature golf course just 1 mile down the road. We are also about 20 minutes from a local winery! Swimming, kayaking and floating is allowed off the dock being a no wake zone! The boat house has a slip available to park your boat when not in use. There are 5 kayaks and a stand-up paddle board to help get you out on the water having fun! Life preservers are available for safety.The house itself has a beautiful lake view porch to drink your morning coffee and wake up slow. There are 5 comfortable bedrooms.
