I would imagine that OAP coach parties love this hotel, but other guests may not have the same feelings. he hotel is in a superb location at the head of Loch Long, with rooms at the front having views of the ”Arrochar Alps”. It's also conveniently placed for Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. That's probably the best things about the hotel. The rest is mostly mundane or worse. The hotel is a bit of a 1980's time warp in places, our room was cramped with an oversized desk and chair taking up most of the available space. Dinner is a standard menu - 3 choices for each course, some good and some not so good. Lounge bar looks like it's had a recent facelift, but the bar manager did not seem at all concerned that the lager coming out of the pump warm. Breakfast was a distinctly average buffet. Staff attitude varied from very good to uninvolved. Overall i think it's trading on its location.

Charming old hotel with splendid view over the harbour. Room had a classic yet not dated appearance, bathroom though seemed a little behind the times. All in all great value for money

Good afternoon, we are talking about the B&B Rudha-Na-Craige of Inveraray, in the wonderful Scotland! Inveraray is a beautiful country on Lake Loch Fyne. We arrived from Oban and, the car path is already beautiful of his. How did we find this B&B? Simple; or you are looking and booking first on the internet, or, as you do in Scotland, walking in car, you look at homes and search vacancy cards or not vacancy; well, just outside the country we saw 3 or 4 but, We couldn't stop and ask. It is an ancient building, with a beautiful garden around it, perfectly preserved, both outside and inside; a large parking outside; the owner Howard came to us, The interior is perfect, clearly drawn; on the ground floor there is a large, bright and very beautiful breakfast room and a beautiful room to read, talk, watch TV; The rooms are at the first floor; our very beautiful, very large, clean, with windows side garden (curtiful) and a second with view of the lake; large, very beautiful bathroom. Howard and Susan are professional, elegant, kind and empathical; they gave us good advice on what to do. It is a nice trip to the city, you can also walk to stores, pubs and restaurants, the view of the castle of Inverray, is a canoe trip with bathroom in the loch. It's certainly at a very high level, it's more expensive than others, yes, but we wanted to make a beautiful gift. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating! They accomodate to your specific needs which is a really nice touch. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The accomodation was beautiful and our room was amazing. Clean, spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The complementary prosecco was also a lovely gesture. The location is perfect, beautiful views and a lovely stroll into town. Special thanks for Emilia at the front office desk!

The room was large and clean and the front desk reception was pleasant and helpful. The hotel lounge and dining areas were large and bright. The decor was drab and dated with extensive use of ugly carpet and wallpaper everywhere. The bizarre shower mixing valve arrangement resulted in the bath tub filling up very fast when taking a shower. The pivoting glass shower door/deflector arrangement made it difficult to impossible to keep shower spray from ending up on the bathroom floor. The bathroom door had no proper handle/latch/lock for privacy and was only held closed with a magnet. Finding parking was a horror story. All regular spots were taken and what was left was utter chaos. Everyone else had just improvised and parked wherever they could find a spot along the drive, on the grass etc... Wi-Fi did not work throughout the ENTIRE stay. The reception staff indicated that the router was likely ”overloaded”. They reset the router but it didn't help. There were no physical LAN drops in the room either. We paid 20 pounds for a breakfast that was at first non-existent (buffet style - almost empty to empty warmers). When we entered the dining area there were few people but many...most tables covered with dirty dishes, cutlery etc...After an extended wait food trickled out. In the mean time we had to search for the coffee (INSTANT coffee made en-masse). The actual food offerings were ok once they appeared but many items were reheated pre-packaged items and there were almost no heathy (fruit, plain yogurt etc...) options.

We stayed here for a stopover on a motorcycle trip. 2 x single occupancy rooms and a double. All rooms were very well presented and equipped. The name bunkhouse doesn’t fit as we were pleasantly surprised with the rooms and the communal facilities. The owner was very friendly and helpful giving us a tour of the facilities. Ideal base for the Highlands or for a single night stopover. I would definitely stay here again.
