"One of the 90s-whatever nice hotels with excellent view at Kouremenos beach, which now needs to be renovated. Very bad (old) bathroom in the room, extremely small shower where you always have this shower curtain stuck on your body. The kitchen in the studio we booked was a very very old one. Water from here and there all around the pool as they don't have the infrastructure to get rid of the water that someone spread around the pool when he gets out of it. The breakfast was too simple and below average"

"I have been to Terra Minoika from the 9th till the 14th July. I was there with my wife and my 12yo son. I have no words to describe the excellent stay we experienced in our 5 days at Terra Minoika. I need to mention the spectacular view from our room (Deluxe Suite) and the tasty breakfast. The room interior and the hotel in general are simply perfect! "We spent 3 fabulous weeks here during August - September. Everything about this hotel is great. The staff is friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. We were warmly welcomed by Anna and her colleagues, and taken extremely good care of throughout our whole vacation. Everything is super clean, the room as well as the breakfast and pool area. Talking about the breakfast - delicious! Everything you need and more. The location is perfect... especially if you like to walk. Short walking distance to lovely Palaikasto, the wonderful small village with several great taverns, each one serving delicious greek cuisine. Each one with super friendly staff. Two fantastic beaches 1,8 km away... a twenty minute walk through wonderful surroundings. Kouremenos beach and Hiona beach. If you need a quiet, relaxing vacation - don't miss Hiona Holiday Hotel and Palaikastro!"

"We were unsure what to expect when we drove out of Zakros village all the way down to the beach. The 7km sealed road is another Cretan stunner with fabulous views over the cobalt blue Libyan Sea. Apart from a handful of tavernas (right on the beach and providing excellent food and typical Cretan friendly service), the Zakros Palace ruins and the Zakros Gorge, there is very little else around so you do feel you are on the very remote eastern edge of the island. The villas themselves blend beautifully into the landscape and the natural stone and timber are very easy on the eye. The villas are very roomy, with private courtyards and/or balconies, and excellent breakfasts were included. It is a very professionally run family establishment with excellent amicable hosts, and ample car parking. All in all Terra Minoika is a classy establishment without being pretentious. We were virtually at the end of a 4 week self-driving holiday around Crete so a couple of relaxing, hassle-free days at Terra Minoika was very much appreciated."

"We were given an incredibly tiny room, with tiny shower and even tinier balcony. Very uncomfortable given the lilliputian sizes of everything. With two people in the room it was awkward to move around to say the least. This was for nothing less than € 85/day. The fridge was too cold and couldn’t be regulated. It damaged all our fruits. The hotel has 30 rooms but parking spaces only for eight cars. Parking on the street is sometimes available but by the early evening is completely full, so beware of your movements and timing. In order to secure a parking space in the tiny hotel car park we have been forced to return to the hotel every day before 3pm and not moving the car again until the following morning, therefore missing many potential tours in the afternoons. Breakfast included but pretty basic. Room service they didn’t clean or change the dirty glasses left on the table from the day before. All in all definitely not the most pleasant nor recommended stay."
