"Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rooms: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Most rooms seem to have a river view. While the facilities feel a bit old, the cleaning is thorough, so it didn't feel dirty. The indoor bath was around 40℃, and the open-air bath was around 38℃, a little on the lukewarm side. The water quality was slightly cloudy brown, had a petroleum smell, and tasted salty, so I think it's a matter of personal preference. Also, the men's bath has a sauna, which is still new, and the indoor thermometer read 80℃. The cold plunge pool is particularly noteworthy; the water quality was as refreshing as the cold plunge pool at Shikiji, a sauna mecca in Shizuoka. I highly recommend that sauna enthusiasts nationwide experience it. Food: ⭐️⭐️ Breakfast and dinner are buffet style. Since it's a rice-producing region, the white rice is delicious, but the side dishes are mostly simple and neither particularly good nor bad."

Location only accessible if with car as its quite far in the mountains but the environment is very serene. Food served was also of good quality."

"A thoroughly satisfying and impeccable hot spring trip. This hotel is nestled deep in the mountains of Itoigawa, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Hakuba Buddha statue is nearby, and a large silken thread runs past the entrance. Facilities: The hotel is a bit far from the train station, but calling ahead will arrange a shuttle service in a Mitsubishi Delica – a very comfortable ride. The hotel has a large public bath with three private baths. Check-in includes 30 minutes of complimentary bath time, after which it costs 2200 yen for every 45 minutes. We used two of them and found them very relaxing. Cleanliness: Very clean. The hotel is exceptionally well-maintained; there was practically no dust. Environment: Cozy and inviting. Soft background music plays in the public areas, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Service: The hotel staff are very welcoming, with a greeter upon check-in. The auntie and uncle at the front desk were particularly helpful and friendly, but they seemed a little unfamiliar with WeChat payment since we were the first guests to use it. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent."

"It was a charming inn that made me feel like I was back at my grandmother's hometown in the countryside. It looked like a fun place to come with friends and have fun. We stayed here because we wanted to go to Hisui Coast. It was close to the coast, so we enjoyed morning strolls."

"We used this hotel for a family trip during the long weekend. The staff were very polite and provided excellent service, making for a very pleasant stay. However, there was a lack of amenities, which is something we hope they will improve. The meals were buffet style, which seemed to please the children, and the fried items like tempura were served fresh. It would have been nice if they had provided tempura dipping sauce in addition to salt."

"The scenery is stunning, but train services to JR Hiraiwa Station are extremely limited. The room facilities are a bit dated. The private and public onsen (hot spring baths) are both excellent, and almost empty. It's perfect for a quiet stay with some downtime. Remember to check train schedules beforehand and call the hotel in advance to arrange pick-up. The service is excellent and very welcoming. The food is decent, with a traditional Japanese feel."
