Blue Reef Sport & Fishing Lodge and Bungalows ★★★
"Me and my friend were on vacation and had a lovely stay here! The main restaurant is located in a wonderful place, with a picturesque view, so you can enjoy very tasty food and the ocean at the same time. Delicious seafood, meat, and all the dishes are very wonderful. Oh en don’t forget to drink the delicious cocktails at the bar! Our room was located on the ground floor, with a beautiful garden, and 30 sec walk to te white sandy beach. Our room was cleaned daily. All the staff were really friendly and their service was great! We enjoyed every minute of our holiday and we will definitely return to this magical place with joy. We felt rested and relaxed when we left. Thank you!"
Reef & Beach Resort - Spa Jambiani ★★★★
"Had 10 fabulous days here in March with my friend. The hotel is very well maintained and immaculately clean. Our room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. We opted for a sea view which I would really recommend. We found the food to be very good, fresh and lots of choice. What really makes this hotel stand out for me, however, is the staff. Every single member of the team we encountered was friendly, kind-natured and a real pleasure to talk to. They truly make you feel welcome. The whole resort has a very relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. The hotel clearly takes great pride in both its staff and the guest experience."
Aquelia Rose Hotel ★★★
"Terrible choice! On the day we arrived, we only had one bath towel in the room. After our third request, at 5:30 PM, they brought a soaked pool towel and a wet bath towel!! We refused! At the end of the day, at 7 PM, they brought a bath towel that wasn't stretched or folded, but dry! The next day, before we had even had breakfast, they were already cleaning the room. At that time, they left two pool towels but didn't replace the bath towels. On the third day, they removed the bath towels and didn't replace them. They removed the shower gel and soap from the sink and didn't replace anything. They didn't offer a single bottle of drinking water! The tap in the sink barely dispenses water. The floor drain takes a long time to empty the showers. In short, terrible conditions! Everything is very old! The stairs leading to the beach are extremely dangerous, with very poorly made steps, ranging from inclines to different step heights, some quite high, without any handrails. They ask you to shower before entering the pool, but the shower for those coming from the beach doesn't work! The breakfast is awful! They don't serve what's on the menu; you order one thing and you get something else. For lunch, it takes them an hour to prepare a Greek salad and some grilled squid with fries!! On the beach right outside the hotel, Maasai wait for guests, their stalls for sales, immense noise from the people who set up under the dining area, selling things and catching fish. For a place that claims to be a place for relaxing, doing nothing, and resting, it's a very noisy hotel, with minimal soundproofing. Windows that don't seal properly, doors that creak and drag on the floor… Hard to forget!! Not recommended at all! In fact, it's recommended not to book this hotel, which doesn't even have a name that matches. They say it's called EquAlia Rose Hotel, but it's actually AquElia Rose Hotel!!"
CZR Celebrate Zanzibar Rhythm
Cinnamon Hotel ★★★
"Best meal ever! Gabriel was amazing, great energy. I’d highly recommend if you’re in Nungwi. I got the Z burger and it was delicious"
Gadea Boutique Hotel& Gadea Garden Italian Restaurant Adults Only ★★★
"Very friendly hotel, room with a view of the pool, very cute, decorated with great taste, very well equipped (fridge, safe, hairdryer) Beach accessible by a small path. Very efficient and really very friendly staff. Excellent and really very generous breakfast. Very relaxing."
Stonefish Inn Jambiani ★★
"We had a fantastic time to authentic Swahili environment 2 min away from the beach and 5 min walk from the local toko"
Starfish Garden Lodge
"A truly unforgettable experience in a dream location! I had a wonderful stay, welcomed by a staff that was always kind, smiling, and helpful, who made every moment special. The food was excellent: we sampled all the island's typical delicacies. Leaving was not easy, as I left this place with a sadness in my heart. It's been two weeks since my return, and I'm suffering from "Africa sickness." I truly hope to be able to return soon. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Starfisch for their professionalism and wonderful hospitality. I recommend anyone wishing to stay in Zanzibar to choose this property: in addition to having a unique experience, they also support educational projects for the Jambiani community. Fantastic, dream location,"
The Loop Beach Resort- Adults Only ★★
"After a 2-week safari on the mainland with family, the Loop Beach Resort was a delightful place for just my wife and me to relax and unwind. The resort provides a small, quiet, unpretentious place with excellent staff, comfy rooms, and delicious food. We were concerned at check-in because we arrived late and the lobby/lounge area was dark with music playing loudly which made the process difficult. But after getting to our room and sleeping very well we woke to a beautiful sunrise and a delicious breakfast. All of our concerns were gone. The staff were excellent. They got to know guests and were very attentive making sure we were comfortable. The pool was beautiful, overlooking the ocean, perfect for a quiet dip and maybe swim a few laps. It was great to step out onto the beach for a walk. We had massages that were a perfect treat to include. The resort is remote from most of the activities the island offers. They can arrange activities and transportation but it was always a somewhat long ride to get anywhere. That’s the trade off to staying at a quiet place. If you do schedule an activity with the concierge, be sure to ask about details so you take everything you’ll need for the day. It was easy to forget about planning details for a day trip."

Nur Beach Hotel
"This hotel grew on us and turned out to be a very enjoyable stay. When we first arrived, it was after 11 PM and our driver was unable to drive all the way up to the front gate due to the late hour and some minor road repairs. There was no one to formally welcome us due to the lateness. We later found out that the reception hours are from 8 AM-10 PM. We were able to get into our room from a security person, but we did not have wi-fi. We also were missing blankets. We were very skeptical, but then in the morning things turned around. With receptions help, we were able to get on wi-fi, easily get additional pillows, blankets, and towels and ended up really enjoying our stay. Other reviews are correct in that the doors to the rooms are wooden shutters and this can make noise a slight issue if you want to sleep in, but we were right by the reception and lounge and had no issues with noise. The cleanliness of the rooms was fine, especially for a beach hotel with lots of sand. Because of the doors/shutters, we were careful with mosquitos getting in by keeping the shutters closed and the lights off in the evening, we had no issues. This is definitely a mid-range priced hotel, if you are used to 5 star beach resorts, you will be disappointed, but if you are happy with reasonable accommodations with a beautiful view for a low price, it's great. We stayed here after our safari to rest and recover and it was perfect for that. It was quiet, good food and drinks, relaxing."
Meliks Now with Solar Power
"We stayed here for a week. Alex was super friendly. Breakfast was delicious. All the team was warm and open. Thank you for the lovely experience. They are there to help you whenever you need for example a taxi. Asante Sana, from Assala and Sarah"
Lost Soles Lōdge
"Absolutely amazing! The most gorgeous location on Jambiani beach, with delightful rooms and small, compact pool, bathing, bar and dining area. We really did not want to leave. The managers could not be more hands on, helpful and very friendly. The staff were lovely and the chef cooks all the food to order. Even if you don't stay here I would recommend passing by for drinks and food, including breakfast. It is very very reasonably priced compared to many places on the beach, is clean and enjoys great service from the bar and restaurant staff. We loved the proximity to the locals as well, including the children we met on the beach and the recommendations from Uschi on a great taxi and places to visit. Am reluctant to recommend as would like to keep it as a secret!"
Zanzistar Lodge
"We enjoyed our stay at Zanzistar, particularly the wonderful staff and the fabulous food. They are truly top notch!!! If you’re looking for a private spot on the beach, I suggest skipping the chambre de plage. It’s sandwiched between the beach bar and another building -very little breeze and of lot of foot traffic. Nonetheless, we loved our stay and the magic of the Jambiani vibe and the spectacularly dramatic tides!"
The Oasis Residence
"We spent 8 nights here We had villa liraya plus duo smaller villas we were 13 people The place in person is even more beautiful Everything is perfect Cleanliness food staff It was beautiful"
Two Palms
IFA Beach Resort
"We chose Ifa Beach Resort after having a great stay at another nearby hotel, but our experience here left us very uncomfortable. Shortly after arriving, we encountered another guest who was extremely distressed and told us her family’s valuables had gone missing overnight. She believed something serious had happened during dinner and that their room had been accessed later that night. Seeing how shaken she was raised immediate safety concerns for us. What concerned us most was the hotel’s response. Staff did not appear helpful or reassuring, and when we raised our concerns about whether it was safe to stay, management focused on persuading us to remain rather than addressing the situation in a way that made us feel secure. This lack of clear communication and reassurance made us uneasy. Because of this, we decided to check out early and book another hotel. We did not experience similar concerns at our previous resort, which had much better security presence and customer service. Based on our experience, I would recommend carefully considering other options in the area, particularly if safety and responsive management are important to you."

Villa Bahati Zanzibar
"Villa Bahati is a very special place, I stayed for 20 days in October 2025 as a single female traveller. It was amazing the staff are so kind and caring Timothy the hotel manager is amazing ensuring everything runs smoothly and he organised trips for me including a three day safari to the Selous Game Reserve on the mainland. Jerry, Happiness and Edward the waiting/bar staff were brilliant too nothing was too much and they make amazing ginger and lemon ice teas which I had daily. I ate at the hotel and the food was great, the chef was willing to tweak the menu to my taste, the king fish was delicious and the grilled calamari exceptional…. All super fresh and delicious. As a single female traveller I felt safe as houses and we’ll cater for. Also Villa Bahati attracts great people I met some lovely fellow travellers. You will never get sick of the view … right on the beach with the bluest ocean and super soft white sand …."
the dream of sau inn beach hotel
"Service was the BEST! The room was super clean and directly next to the beach. 10/10!!"
Equalia Boutique Hotel
"We stayed at this hotel from November 25 to 27, room number 4. We had an extremely unpleasant and unacceptable situation, a woman I know who works at this hotel, the owner of a small cafe "Dida" named Ruth, deceived us, cheated us out of money - this is what we call cheating and stealing! She offered to take us to Jozani Monkey Forest, we agreed that we would go in a small old car and a turnkey excursion, it would cost me and my friend - this is there and back, plus entrance tickets $ 50!. On the way we stopped at a pharmacy because I was sick and the evening before Ruth came to the hotel and gave me a pill, then we corresponded and communicated in a friendly manner. In the morning she came to pick us up at the hotel and the four of us with her sister went to the monkey park, they stopped at a gas station and asked us to pay right away - we gave them a $50 bill that we had prepared in advance, but Ruth said that there was no change and that we should give her more money - 30,000 shillings and that she would change it back and return it to us. she would return it. We walked together on the excursion, everything was fine, upon returning she did not give us our money, we asked if we could return the change, she said: "I will change it and bring it to you in the evening to the hotel!" At this point she began to ignore us and did not answer anymore. In the evening we went to her cafe ourselves, she was not there, we asked to leave our money at the reception since they were all friends there, but nothing either. We wrote that we were leaving in the morning and needed to have time to pick it up, again ignored. We heard screams and left the hotel, there was a cafe on the side where her sister was sitting and swearing loudly, she was very drunk and did not understand anything, we realized that she would not help us and went back to the cafe to look for Ruth, asked the workers at the cafe to help us, take us to her and explained the situation, everyone pretended that they did not understand anything and did not know, in the end a taxi came for us, we asked the hotel staff at the reception for help, asking them to call her and solve the problem because they all communicate there, know each other and saw how she came to us and that we left with her. The administrator called and she started screaming into the phone and saying that we were calling her and her sister names, although this did not happen, we communicated only by correspondence and it was saved! Then the administrator said: that she will not return anything to you, that she decided to charge you for gasoline! They deceived and robbed us! With such a consumer attitude, deception and changing shoes on the go for such money, no one will fly to Zanzibar. I do not plan to tolerate deception and give my money to some impudent woman who allows herself to be rude and of course in my country I will tell about this situation so that people do not fly and do not get into such a situation! Shame!"
