Blue Reef Sport & Fishing Lodge and Bungalows
"5 star experience We absolute loved this place. Rooms were clean and there was hot water. Great. Breakfast was wonderful and lunch and dinner too! The staff are all helpful and sweet. Always happy and friendly. Went on a small snorkeling trip. We had so much fun. The drinks… OMG.. the best I have ever tasted. Would recommend this to all! I would love to come back."
CZR Celebrate Zanzibar Rhythm
Gadea Boutique Hotel& Gadea Garden Italian Restaurant Adults Only
"We spent two unforgettable weeks at Gadea. Everything was perfect, starting with the welcome we received upon arrival from the owners Annalisa and Davide, who were our go-to for everything. Their staff was always kind and smiling, ready to accommodate every request. The tranquility and peace you experience is priceless. The property and the rooms are truly beautiful, colorful, spacious, and spotlessly clean. If you decide to visit Zanzibar, booking at Gadea is a sure thing."

Aquelia Rose Hotel
"Terrible choice! On the day we arrived, we only had one bath towel in the room. After our third request, at 5:30 PM, they brought a soaked pool towel and a wet bath towel!! We refused! At the end of the day, at 7 PM, they brought a bath towel that wasn't stretched or folded, but dry! The next day, before we had even had breakfast, they were already cleaning the room. At that time, they left two pool towels but didn't replace the bath towels. On the third day, they removed the bath towels and didn't replace them. They removed the shower gel and soap from the sink and didn't replace anything. They didn't offer a single bottle of drinking water! The tap in the sink barely dispenses water. The floor drain takes a long time to empty the showers. In short, terrible conditions! Everything is very old! The stairs leading to the beach are extremely dangerous, with very poorly made steps, ranging from inclines to different step heights, some quite high, without any handrails. They ask you to shower before entering the pool, but the shower for those coming from the beach doesn't work! The breakfast is awful! They don't serve what's on the menu; you order one thing and you get something else. For lunch, it takes them an hour to prepare a Greek salad and some grilled squid with fries!! On the beach right outside the hotel, Maasai wait for guests, their stalls for sales, immense noise from the people who set up under the dining area, selling things and catching fish. For a place that claims to be a place for relaxing, doing nothing, and resting, it's a very noisy hotel, with minimal soundproofing. Windows that don't seal properly, doors that creak and drag on the floor… Hard to forget!! Not recommended at all! In fact, it's recommended not to book this hotel, which doesn't even have a name that matches. They say it's called EquAlia Rose Hotel, but it's actually AquElia Rose Hotel!!"
Stonefish Inn Jambiani

Tangawizi Lodge Zanzibar - Adults Only
"Really enjoyed our stay at Tangawizi Lodge! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and would make sure your staff was nothing short of 5 stars. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel multiple times and every time it was brilliant. Fresh juice and fresh fruit in the morning accompanied breakfast. The room is spacious with a balcony facing the beach and pool. The pool was also always clean. Power was virtually on 24/7 - they have generators for which the powers goes so you never go 30 seconds without power if the main power does go out! Had an adorable hotel dog which would was always happy and friendly when she saw us. Very well behaved dog. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you for a fantastic stay."
Cinnamon Hotel
"Spending few days in one of the front rooms was the best decision. It was clean, nicely arranged and decorated but what impressed the most was the ocean view. I spent hours watching the waves, water changing from celadon to turquoise colour, observed gigantic tidal moves - simply breathtaking. I had been in many places but I don't remember any hotel being that close to water. It was basically built on the beach. Highly recommended!"

Equalia Boutique Hotel
"We stayed at this hotel from November 25 to 27, room number 4. We had an extremely unpleasant and unacceptable situation, a woman I know who works at this hotel, the owner of a small cafe "Dida" named Ruth, deceived us, cheated us out of money - this is what we call cheating and stealing! She offered to take us to Jozani Monkey Forest, we agreed that we would go in a small old car and a turnkey excursion, it would cost me and my friend - this is there and back, plus entrance tickets $ 50!. On the way we stopped at a pharmacy because I was sick and the evening before Ruth came to the hotel and gave me a pill, then we corresponded and communicated in a friendly manner. In the morning she came to pick us up at the hotel and the four of us with her sister went to the monkey park, they stopped at a gas station and asked us to pay right away - we gave them a $50 bill that we had prepared in advance, but Ruth said that there was no change and that we should give her more money - 30,000 shillings and that she would change it back and return it to us. she would return it. We walked together on the excursion, everything was fine, upon returning she did not give us our money, we asked if we could return the change, she said: "I will change it and bring it to you in the evening to the hotel!" At this point she began to ignore us and did not answer anymore. In the evening we went to her cafe ourselves, she was not there, we asked to leave our money at the reception since they were all friends there, but nothing either. We wrote that we were leaving in the morning and needed to have time to pick it up, again ignored. We heard screams and left the hotel, there was a cafe on the side where her sister was sitting and swearing loudly, she was very drunk and did not understand anything, we realized that she would not help us and went back to the cafe to look for Ruth, asked the workers at the cafe to help us, take us to her and explained the situation, everyone pretended that they did not understand anything and did not know, in the end a taxi came for us, we asked the hotel staff at the reception for help, asking them to call her and solve the problem because they all communicate there, know each other and saw how she came to us and that we left with her. The administrator called and she started screaming into the phone and saying that we were calling her and her sister names, although this did not happen, we communicated only by correspondence and it was saved! Then the administrator said: that she will not return anything to you, that she decided to charge you for gasoline! They deceived and robbed us! With such a consumer attitude, deception and changing shoes on the go for such money, no one will fly to Zanzibar. I do not plan to tolerate deception and give my money to some impudent woman who allows herself to be rude and of course in my country I will tell about this situation so that people do not fly and do not get into such a situation! Shame!"
Passion Boutique Hotel Zanzibar - Adults Only
"Amazing place, extraordinary service! A million thanks to all the staff for their lovely attention. Cannot wait to come back. Highly recommended!"
Jambiani Villas
"An unforgettable stay at Kole Villa! My family and I had an exceptional time in this quaint village. The location is ideal, surrounded by fantastic restaurants serving delicious cuisine. The service was simply excellent, and the manager was incredibly warm and attentive. We immediately felt at home, regretting having to leave so soon. It's a place where you'd want to extend your stay endlessly. I highly recommend Kole Villa for an authentic and memorable experience in Zanzibar! Thank you Camille and your team!"
The Oasis Residence
"After two amazing weeks on safari in Botswana and SA, we found a true oasis of calm and great vibes at Oasis Residence. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and often anticipated our needs before we even asked. The food was delicious, our villa modern, spacious and spotlessly clean, and the overall service top-notch. One of the highlights was the Swahili night, featuring fantastic local dishes and an unforgettable acrobat performance. We also treated ourselves to a relaxing massage during our stay— just what we needed after our safari adventures. Although not beachfront, the resort is just a short walk through Jambiani village to the sea, or you can take a shuttle to one of their partner beachfront properties, which are equally well-designed and welcoming. That said, we actually preferred the peaceful charm of the Oasis itself. We’d come back in a heartbeat—and in fact, we’re already planning our return in 2026!"
Lost Soles Lōdge
"What an absolute gem. The lodge is run by the most amazing couple Dricus and his wife Uschi, who cater to your every need. Nothing is too much to ask, and they go out of their way to ensure that you have the best holiday possible. The bar staff (JJ, Rashid, and Teddy) are super friendly, always with a smile on their faces, and make sure that your cocktails and drinks are always cold, and that you never go thirsty. We stumbled on Driftwood when looking for accommodation that is situated on a quieter, but still popular beach, and it has surpassed all of our expectations. Whilst staying there we actually had 3 other couples check in that were staying at other hotels north of us, and could not stand the crowds and music at their hotels. They took one look at Driftwood and came in directly to ask for rooms. The food prepared by the local chef was amazing, and the seafood platter that we ordered on the first night, was most generous. We will definitely be going back to Zanzibar next year, and when we do, we will definitely be staying at Driftwood Beach Lodge again. There is no reason to look any further. We have traveled all over the world, and we can honestly say that staying at Driftwood was one of the best stays we have ever had. "
IFA Beach Resort
"We chose Ifa Beach Resort after having a great stay at another nearby hotel, but our experience here left us very uncomfortable. Shortly after arriving, we encountered another guest who was extremely distressed and told us her family’s valuables had gone missing overnight. She believed something serious had happened during dinner and that their room had been accessed later that night. Seeing how shaken she was raised immediate safety concerns for us. What concerned us most was the hotel’s response. Staff did not appear helpful or reassuring, and when we raised our concerns about whether it was safe to stay, management focused on persuading us to remain rather than addressing the situation in a way that made us feel secure. This lack of clear communication and reassurance made us uneasy. Because of this, we decided to check out early and book another hotel. We did not experience similar concerns at our previous resort, which had much better security presence and customer service. Based on our experience, I would recommend carefully considering other options in the area, particularly if safety and responsive management are important to you."
Blue Earth Beach Bungalow
Reef & Beach Resort - Spa Jambiani
"This resort is constructed round the mangroves to preserve the habitat of the protected colobus monkey. It has a general dining room but also has a separate Indian and Italian restaurants. The spa is excellent value for money. Food is very good and plentiful and the staff can't do enough for you. There is a children's club but overall this is a very quiet resort without late night entertainment. Day trips can be booked to explore Zanzibar if you want more to do."
Babu Villas
"Paradise! The villa, all of the staff, the beach here and this lovely small village have been so wonderful to be a part of! If in doubt where to go on Zanzibar, I would highly recommend this small piece of paradise. We were looking on so many hotels before booking Babu villas. And have been so grateful we ended up here! It has been really great for the kids to stay here. But also if travelling as a couple, I would definitely go here again. Ahsanta sana!"
Meliks Now with Solar Power
"We stayed here for a week. Alex was super friendly. Breakfast was delicious. All the team was warm and open. Thank you for the lovely experience. They are there to help you whenever you need for example a taxi. Asante Sana, from Assala and Sarah"
the dream of sau inn beach hotel
"Service was the BEST! The room was super clean and directly next to the beach. 10/10!!"
