"This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The only redeeming quality was for the courtyard. The air conditioning was on all night but useless; the blankets were freezing! The bathroom door made a huge, rattling noise when opened. The shower hose was leaking more water than the showerhead itself. My toothbrush bristles were falling out while I was brushing my teeth… The hot spring wasn't open, and the lobby was practically deserted and dimly lit at night; I almost thought it was closed! Overall, a terrible experience. I stayed here about 10 years ago and had a great experience, but seeing this on Ctrip and immediately catching a cold. I had to change hotels the next day."

"This is my most heartfelt review. It was so hot everywhere during the National Day holiday, so on a whim, I decided to escape the heat in Jing'an. I've been to Jing'an many times, but this was my first time in Zhongyuan. Many guesthouses are converted from self-built houses, and the temperature was about 5 degrees Celsius lower than in the city. Except under the blazing sun, the rooms and the river were incredibly cool. Entering Pusu Guesthouse, the owner's beautifully landscaped garden, with hydrangeas, roses, and yellow nanmu trees, was breathtaking. I booked a family room on the 4th floor. Since it's a self-built house without an elevator, I had to carry my luggage up myself, which was a bit of a struggle. The room was really spacious, with a bedroom and a tea room. The owner put a lot of thought into it; all the furniture was simple and made of wood. It was especially rare to find a room with so many smart devices: a toilet, a fan, latex pillows, and plenty of disposable towels and bath towels. The tea room was my favorite. I asked the owner for two pots of tea; the local black tea paired with the mountain view from the window was truly delightful. In the afternoon, I took the kids to the nearby waterfront platform to catch fish and play in the water. They had a great time. The water quality in Jing'an is excellent, and even a simple swim was satisfying. For kids from the mountains, the longing for nature is like going back to childhood. We initially chose this place because reviews said the auntie's cooking was delicious. So, we discussed meals with the landlord beforehand. The owner said the auntie was only helping out during the summer vacation and couldn't order à la carte. We ended up eating with the owner – four dishes and a soup, no specific dishes allowed. It was quite nice, like opening a blind box. Dinner was the kids' favorite: scrambled eggs with tomatoes, corn and pork rib soup, stir-fried pork with chili peppers, pumpkin, and bean sprouts. Light, simple, and delicious. In the evening, we took the kids to Zhongyuan Township to buy fireworks. Only one shop had them, called Zhongyuan Department Store. On the way back, we saw a barbershop and recommended it – simple, but very comfortable. Lighting fireworks in the yard with the kids was simple joy. Brewing a pot of tea and watching TV in the room was an indescribable happiness. To make sure I didn't miss breakfast, I woke up at 8:40 am after staying up late watching TV. The auntie cooked us two bowls of noodles, along with corn, sweet potatoes, and eggs—it truly tasted like home. I was very reluctant to leave; the scenery, environment, and facilities all left me feeling sad. I'll definitely come back for a long stay next time! 💗"
