"I am not sure what I expected when I picked Hillborook Inn & Spa, but I can tell you that it exceeded it. First off, the grounds are stunning. This property is loaced with beautiful old growth trees, lawns and a hilly topography. There is plenty of wildlife too including the sweet turtles hanging out in the pond. The rooms are snug, but sweet and when I was not thrilled about the pillows in my room, the staff was quick to swap them out. We lounged around the lobby space in the later night, using the tv to look at our photos and listen to music. It was comfortable and traditionaly, but quirky as an old inn should be. The restaurant had excellent breakfast and we did stay for the tasting menu dinner during an absolute belter of a thunderstorm and we were grateful that we did not have to venture out. The service was very professional befitting the fine dining price and experience. but I would say that the food did not always land. Again the cost for dinner was a bit high at $125 pp for 3 courses, so we did have expectations. Regardless, we loved the place and hope we have an excuse to visit sagain some time."
