Tsumagoi Resort Sai No Sato

Tsumagoi Resort Sai No Sato

📍 2000 Tamari, Kakegawa
★★★★ 7.4 (33 reviews)

"We stayed in a deluxe room in the South Wing as a family of three with an elementary school child. The exterior and interior had the atmosphere of an old-fashioned resort from the Showa era, but if you don't mind that, I think it's a great place. The room was very spacious, with four beds and a sofa set, so we were able to relax comfortably. The windows were large and open. The place was cleaned well, but the furniture was old and the atmosphere was far from that of a resort. We used the hot spring facility "Shinrin no Yu" on the premises. There were many small baths both indoors and outdoors, which we enjoyed. However, they also offer day-use bathing, so it was quite crowded and we didn't feel like we could relax very much. The food was buffet style, and the selection was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. It's amazing that you can eat all you want of crab and eel. However, you should not expect too much from the taste of the eel, regardless of the crab. There are many other delicious dishes besides crab and eel, and we couldn't try them all in one night. I don't think you'll get bored even if you stay for several nights. Tsumagoi Resort offers a wide range of activities, including horse riding, treasure hunting, and kick scooter rentals, which the kids loved. The site was large, so we were glad we rented a cart to get around. It was a very fun resort for kids, but for adults it was a bit old-fashioned with a Showa-era feel. However, the price was very reasonable (just under 30,000 yen for a family of three with two meals), so for the price and the variety of activities, it's definitely 5 stars."

Suigetsu Hotels in Kakegawa

"This inn is located in the mountains of Kakegawa City, about 20 minutes by car from Kakegawa IC. I stayed here before and it was good, so I came again. This time, as with the previous time, I chose the 24-hour stay plan with three meals included. The room was a Japanese-style room of about 12 tatami mats. It is an old inn, but the inside is kept clean (no Wi-Fi). There are no chairs in the room, so I requested one in advance and borrowed one. There is a wide veranda, so I thought it would be good if there was a chair and table set (because it is a bit difficult to sit on the tatami all the time). There were reviews saying that the toilet in the room was a problem because it was "Japanese". The toilet in this room was changed from Japanese style to Western style, and it was okay to use. There is no washlet, but there is a toilet with a washlet for both men and women outside the room. There is also no refrigerator in the room, but there is a large refrigerator right next to the room that you can use, so you can keep cold drinks cold. There are no convenience stores near the inn, so if there are any snacks you want, it is better to buy them in advance. Well, there is no open-air bath, but the water is not hot, so I was able to take a leisurely bath. The hot spring water is good and makes the skin smooth. It is open 24 hours a day, so I went in many times during my stay. The women's bath is a bathroom that can fit about two people, and there are two washing areas. Amenities include facial soap, all-in-one, toothpaste, etc. in the wash area. The men's bath is quite spacious, including the changing room (we were the only guests staying this time, so we were able to use both baths). I try not to take photos of the public baths at the inn, but this time we were able to use it privately during our stay, so I took a photo of the women's bath. Meals are served in the room for dinner, breakfast, and lunch. First, dinner. It was so beautifully presented that I exclaimed, "Wow!" and each dish was amazing. The vinegared dish had nine different ingredients, including crab, shrimp, scallops, octopus, and seaweed, and there were seven different types of tempura, including vegetables and shrimp, six different types of sashimi, eight different types of appetizers, including large shrimp, seven different types of simmered dishes, including vegetables, and a large chawanmushi with the scent of yuzu. The yam was sticky yet fluffy, and the yamame trout was large and easy to remove. The grilled bracts were fragrant, and I thought it would be great to eat this with rice, but unfortunately I was too full to eat the rice and soup, so I refrained. However, I did enjoy the fruit dessert (melon, pear, and mandarin orange). I drank sake, including Takatenjin (300c), a local sake from Kakegawa City, for 880 yen. The breakfast was delicious, and this time lunch was included, and the kamameshi was filled with more ingredients than I've ever seen. Even at a kamameshi restaurant, I've never seen anything with so many ingredients. There were about two and a half bowls of chicken, mushrooms, carrots, bamboo shoots, etc., and I thought I would be able to finish it all, but I ate it all with fried eggplant, shishito peppers, fried fish, pickles, etc. The piping hot rice cooked in front of my eyes warmed my body and my heart. All three meals, dinner, breakfast, and lunch, were very satisfying and I thought, ``Ah, so delicious!'' The landlady's hospitality also really warmed my heart. When I asked or asked something, she was kind, polite, and gentle. Whenever she came to my room, she always knocked and called out to me before opening the door, and I thought she was very considerate of her customers. At high-class inns, I have experienced many times when the waitress came to my room multiple times for in-room meals and opened the door without me saying anything, but that never happened at this inn. I think this inn is a place that heals visitors with the hospitality of the landlady and the owner, the good hot springs, and the delicious food that is made with love."

"Maybe there was an event nearby? It was overpriced. Is there no air conditioning? Is it broken? It didn't work and it was cold. I wish they had put bottled water in the fridge. When I went to buy some, the vending machine inside the hotel was broken so I had to go outside to get some. At breakfast, there was an issue where the table was cleared away when I got up to get a refill. The Kakegawa tea provided in the room was delicious so I bought some to take home as a souvenir. Thank you for your hospitality."

Kuretake-Inn Kakegawa ★★★
"I stayed here this time to attend a concert at Ecopa Stadium. It's close to the station and has many convenience stores and restaurants nearby, making it a great location. I planned to stay for two nights, but since I was only booking one night at a time, I asked the day before if they could share a room, and they gladly accommodated. (Unfortunately, I had to leave suddenly, so I ended up only staying one night.) The front desk staff were very helpful and explained everything to me. I also appreciated the free breakfast. The amenities were basic, and you could pick up anything you needed from the front desk. I'd definitely stay here again if I have business around Kakegawa Station."

"The man at the front desk (with a Chinese accent?) was smiling the whole time and very helpful. Thank you. The room was not on a high floor, so I couldn't open the paper door because it would be visible from the neighborhood, but it was a room that felt like an old-fashioned hotel."
