"Read my review carefully before booking. Where to start? Very noisy establishment, located next to a busy road and also located in the air corridor of Chania airport. In addition, NATO fighter jets fly over the sky every day morning and evening!! Add to that the rooms are very poorly soundproofed; you will only hear your neighbors, the reception staff and the slamming doors. Regarding the interior of the hotel, we had a room with large cracks in the walls, the equipment is old, nothing has been renovated. A stana stairlift awaits you in front of the reception... The price is not justified at all. I do not understand the ratings of this establishment, never book here unless it is for 1 or 2 nights at the most. You will not be able to rest. Very very disappointed, we stayed 5 nights without compensation from the hotel. A disgrace."

"We stayed at Giorgi"s Blue Apartments (GBA) for 6 nights. GBA is a small complex of 19 apartments on the coast at Kalathas, north east of Chania. GBA is only 15 mins drive from Chania airport. There is a good sized swimming pool, but for our purposes, even more appealingly a small cove with steps down into the sea for swimming. The apartments are arranged around a small courtyard and all except one has a balcony. They have self catering facilities and bathrooms with showers with loads of hot water. Staying at GBA is on B&B basis, but you can get simple food from the poolside bar (Greek salad and sandwiches) and food delivery is offered. The breakfast at GBA is a highlight. There is a fresh orange juice machine and a wide choice of other fresh food. We did not hire a car, but got the local bus into Chania on 3 days and spent 3 days relaxing at GBA. The bus stop is at most a 10 min walk from GBA and takes you right into the heart of Chania. The busses are air-conditioned coaches, so very comfortable and the journey is about 25 mins. We arrived in Chania each time feeling ready to sightsee. Returning to GBA after each day of sightseeing was a delight, it is a haven of peace and tranquility. The busses could have been more frequent but we managed to make it work by eating late lunches in Chania before catching a 6pm bus back to GBA. The staff at GBA are really helpful. Annelies is a mine of useful information and could not have done more for us. "
