"We stayed 30 mins at hotel after checkout But they didn’t check anything like bills, or stuff from rooms during that time. The next morning they called us in an accusing tone that we took drinks & wine from hotel & left bills unpaid. We did not even touch a single bottle of wine or a can of soda. The only “fault” we had was forgetting about the bill for a single dish of traditional fried rice the night before. Which I believe it’s the staff’s duty to remind us, not the other way around. We’ll be paying the said bill via bank account. But I think I won’t be visiting a hotel that misses their duties, accuses us of taking drinks that we did not, and doing so in a condescending tone, again. A shame because we really enjoyed the scenery and facilities and was thinking to visit again and stay a little bit longer next time. Now there will be no next time to this hotel for us."

"The hotel compound was smaller than my expectation. I thought I would be surrounded by a mini forest without any concrete, but, unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way. I made a direct reservation with the hotel, so, I saved a few dollars from the trip. The room is nice and cozy. Always cooler than the outside temperature. The bed is very comfortable. Spacious bathroom, too. Breakfast menu is limited. You can choose 1 main dish per day from 4 main menus, and they provide side dishes for you. If you stay long, it could become tougher for you to eat almost the same meal every day. We stayed there for 5 days, so it was just ok for us (right before becoming tired of the breakfast menu). It is a 15 minute walk into town from the hotel. I think the hotel location is very good. I would definitely just lodge there every time I’m in Kalaw. This hotel really has Kalaw vibe. Highly recommended."

"Golden Kalaw Inn is walking distance from the local market (every 5 days). The room is spacious and has 3 single beds and every thing you need. Beds are clean but a bit hard according to western standard. Only big towel is provided and no towel to dry your feet coming out of the shower. The internet is good and the manager made sure that there was power all the time. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!"

"I confirmed via a Viber conversation that I would stay in a mountain view room on the night of 18 December 2025 and then move to a pagoda view room on the second night (19 December 2025), as they had already received a booking for the mountain view room on 19 December. However, when I checked in on 18 December, they informed me that I would only receive a pagoda view room for both nights, stating that the invoice mentioned only a pagoda view room and that a half deposit had already been paid. I explained that based on our Viber conversation, I understood that the first night would be a mountain view room but they refused to acknowledge this and relied solely on the deposit invoice. This experience was unreliable and disappointing due to untrustworthy communication. If you plan to book this hotel, do not rely on written conversations as only the invoice receipt is considered. Their response was irresponsible especially considering that a half deposit is mandatory for this hotel."
