"Having stayed in Delhi for two nights I travelled to Phagwara, Punjab. My uncle who lives locally had booked my family including 3 children into the Grand Ambasador - and I was worried. I had for many years stayed at the Cabbana Resort and Spa in Phagwara at a cost of near 80 - 100 pounds per night. My booking was for 7 nights including breakfast, we had an interconnecting room. Upon arrival the hotel stands at odds as it is quite a busy area by the railway station and there is limited parking unlike other large resort hotels. However that is where the oddity stops. This is a clean, purposeful hotel, with great service and in room dining options that do not break the bank, and the food is spot on. There is western, Indian and Chinese food to opt for and the staff are attentive. The en suite was clean, with a glass enclosure, the shower head was limescale free and loo roll replenished daily and complimentary mineral water. Minibar had all western treats (crisps, chocolates and drinks), free Wi-Fi and a led tv with local channels. Do not get me wrong it is not a leading hotel of the world 5 star but when you pay 32 pound per night it punches way above its weight. For any NRI who wants access to shopping, banking and the surrounding villages to visit family then this is a great place. Only downside was loud music till midnight but hey it was around Christmas and New Year. We enjoyed the roof too party for new years and met many families there and one was staying for 6 weeks for a wedding. Spot on. "
