"Great"

"We are scheduled to check in this Sunday, but Kennebunkport is expecting a nor’easter with severe weather and coastal flooding, which is especially concerning because we booked a boathouse accommodation. We asked the hotel either to reschedule our stay—without requesting a refund—or to move us to another of its properties. Although we understand the 14-day cancellation policy, these are extenuating circumstances. We ultimately canceled after being told that we would receive a refund for any nights the room was rebooked, though that seems highly unlikely. The hotel is now saying we would receive only a credit at White Barn. For a property that claims to provide a high level of service, our experience has been extremely disappointing. We also had 4 nights booked at a Martha's Vineyard hotel and they were move than accommodating given the weather issues. I would seriously think twice about staying at this hotel chain, we certainly will not."

"We stayed in Serenity, which was Heavenly. The room is very spacious, inviting, and the bedding was extremely comfortable. Every amenity was provided with a few extra touches here and there. The room is spacious and is located upstairs so there is no one above you, which is a plus when it comes to most bed and breakfast inns. The room is located in a quite hall with just one other room near by. There are lots of areas throughout the Inn with comfortable seating areas and places to just sit and relax. There were cookies set out with hot teas and coffee. There is also a wine machine which does have additional charges. We ordered the brie to be delivered to our room which I would highly recommend! It was so good and perfect after a day out enjoying Kennebunkport. The breakfast came in two courses first with fruit salad with mint and the second two pieces of French toast with sausage. Plan on taking a little time for breakfast. If you come down right at breakfast time, there was a pretty big group, and you have to wait a bit. I did notice another couple came down later and were taken care of pretty quickly. Tables are set up individually and family style. Just a few notes – The floors do creak quiet a bit but is expected with wood floors and we weren’t quite sure if we were above another room, so we tried to be respectful not only to each other but to those possibly below. Also to get to the room, you are navigating through a few small hallways and a set of steep stairs, which was not an issue for us but might be for others. Also although very good the breakfast is not very hearty for most men, both men at our table mentioned going to get something for breakfast afterwards. I would definitely recommend and would love staying at The Inn at English Meadows in the future."

"My husband and I were looking for a long weekend getaway to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and this place was great! They had a chilled bottle of wine waiting in our room, they provided local restaurant suggestions so we could make reservations ahead of time, and (my favorite part), when we had to leave early in the morning on the last day (this missing their delicious breakfast food), they made us a to-go breakfast bag: a yogurt parfait, clementines, and some biscotti. Great service!"
