The tent accommodation with airconditioning and an ensuite was superb, spacious, clean, and having a balcony made our stay most enjoyable. The only drawback was.that the TV did not work, all in all, a minor hassle. Highly recommend! "We enjoyed our first visit to Koh Mook with a 3-night stay at Mook Lamai. We chose the property because we enjoy smaller family-run boutique hotels, and the high-season rate also seemed very reasonable. We booked the private pool grand villa, which was located in a quiet area of the property and provided a lot of privacy. The room itself was basic, but clean and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed having a separate sunroom that allowed us to enjoy indoor/outdoor living during the day. The owner and all of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I think the personal hospitality was what made our stay so memorable. They also helped arrange private transfers from Trang airport to the hotel, as well as from the hotel to Koh Kradan, making the logistics of our trip very seamless. The transfer prices were very reasonable. Breakfast at the outdoor restaurant was simple but plentiful, and we also enjoyed several classic Thai dishes for lunch, which were very good. The hotel is not beachfront, but it's only a few minutes by moto-taxi to the main town area or beaches. It's also within walking distance to a few local convenience stores. The hotel provides a complimentary one-way moto-taxi ride into town or to the other side of the island, where you can enjoy the sunset from Charlie Beach. It was very easy to hire a moto-taxi back whenever you're ready. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Mook Lamai and on this very relaxing island. The combination of the smaller boutique setting, private villa, reasonable pricing, and especially the genuinely warm hospitality made this a memorable stay on Koh Mook."

"The location is perfect: a 10-minute walk to Charlie Beach, the best beach on Ko Muk. So if you're looking for a beautiful sunset beach within walking distance, this is your place! Wang, the manager, is very nice, but the staff is very laid-back. The garden could be so much nicer if it were maintained properly. There are too many stray dogs that constantly bother you and sometimes fight and bark. Breakfast is meager. It's a shame that in a country full of fresh fruit, they only serve you orange juice from the supermarket. We had a very bad experience with the Mookies boat: our engine broke down in the middle of the sea. The captain didn't speak English, and other boats didn't stop to help us. We had to wait an hour for another boat to pick us up. I didn't feel safe. Wang didn't explain the Emerald Cave trip well beforehand. You have to swim 80 meters in the dark to reach an inner lake. I became claustrophobic and had to turn around. Wang resolved this nicely, but the experience was not pleasant. The room was very basic, and the bed was small and hard. You wake up very early because there are rams that don't have curtains."
