"When we arrived, we were told our room was in Block C. It transpired that this was some distance along the road. We had to go down some steps to the level for our room. We had to go down many steps to get to the beach area. Our sea view room looked out onto a gravel terrace full of weeds. The hotel was by no means full - why were we given this room? My husband told the receptionist that the room was completely unsuitable because I have a heart complaint - I couldn’t cope with all the steps involved, so needed a room serviced by an elevator. The receptionist - Senka - was very helpful and offered us a change of room straight away. We said we’d move the next morning. All the rooms are identical, but they really are chalk and cheese. Our new room (201) was SO much better…… proper sea view with no weeds in sight, near to the elevator and other facilities. (The C Block room was 501……avoid!) I really can’t understand how the rooms are allocated. We had booked for 5 nights, and the first room was awful, and you could see clearly from the pool area, for example, that there were plenty of empty rooms in the main building. The room was comfortable with a very comfortable bed, and an adequate balcony. The shower room needs updating. It’s very small and sombre, with unpleasant smelling toiletries. Thin towels. They will provide a kettle and cups if you ask, so I took my own tea bags from home, as I’d read that on Tripadvisor before we left. The breakfasts were good. The evening dinner - buffet - was generally fine, although the hot food needed to be hot. The desserts were the usual fare of terribly sweet cakes, but there was fresh fruit, and you could help yourself to icecream, so all was not lost. Wines , (local), are quite pricey and the cheapest one was not available by our last evening - I think we must have exhausted their supply on the previous four nights. Not many people seemed to be drinking wine. The swimming must have been great for confident swimmers. However, you’re straight away into deep water, so this hotel, if you are planning on a beach type break, is completely unsuitable if you have young children or are not that confident a swimmer yourself. I thought I’d swim in the pool, but didn’t, as this is a throw back from older times - you are out of your depth for 2/3 of the pool. This was our swimming part of a two week trip and I wasn’t able to swim at all, which was tremendously disappointing. Friendly and hard working staff and everywhere was very clean. My Aminess Loyalty card refused to work. After two attempts by reception , assuring me it would work, I didn’t bother anymore. There are two supermarkets close by. Go to the pool area, then go down one flight of steps and turn left towards the village, and follow the road along the edge of the sea. After a short distance is the first one - open just mornings. Much further along is a decent sized supermarket. And it’s a pleasant stroll to get there."

"Review of the hotel for the first evening 1. Upon arrival at 2:30 PM, they couldn't check us in with a small child, they made us wait until exactly 3:00 PM. 2. The TV in the lobby is just for show, none of the services were paid for, there was nothing to watch or distract the child with even while waiting. 3. There was no TRASH CAN in the room, for now we will have to put the trash in our own bags in the hallway. 4. There was NO WATER in the room at 32 degrees Celsius, and they didn't bring any later during the day. 5. The hotel doesn't have its own beach, just concrete slabs 1-1.5 meters high or rocks from which it is unrealistic to descend into the water, 2 iron ladders - for athletes in good shape, not for children at all. The depth is great right away. 6. The air conditioner in the room clicks every 2 minutes, we wanted to sleep after the road, but it didn't work. The clicking noise keeps us from sleeping, we are dreading the night. When we asked to check the problem and fix it, they promised to call a repairman. Naturally, as we already understood, no one cares about the guests here, no repairman came. 7. The icing on the cake was at dinner: the plates we started to touch with our hands were scorching hot, it's good that I grabbed the plate first and immediately threw it back, the result - burns on three fingers. Naturally, there was no warning that they were hot. 8. The pool is cloudy, the water is dirty, there are a maximum of 10 sun loungers near the pool for all the guests. It's a circus. 9. You can hear your neighbors very loudly, even a simple conversation. Not to mention that when they close the door to their room, the whole wall just shakes. 10. At dinner, there were no forks, knives, or napkins on the tables, we had to go looking for them. 11. The water machine just had water instead of the promised and pictured drinks. The selection of dishes is meager, with only 1-2 fruits or salads to choose from. The takeaway apples on the bar are rotten right off the bat. The entire hotel is a pretty picture painted on cardboard, but the service is appalling – we've simply never seen worse. We deeply regret moving from the island of Vis to this dump at such a great expense and time with our child. Our mood is ruined for the rest of our vacation."

"The welcome at reception was great and we had high hopes for our stay at Aminess Port 9 but ultimately came away thinking this hotel was decidedly average.  After checking in we headed straight to the pool and soon realised why it wasn’t busier - it was freezing! We had booked half board, breakfast and dinner were fine with lots of options but the coffee wasn’t great and no fresh juice.  It would have been nice to have tap water offered with dinner.  My son particularly enjoyed the multimedia room but it was only open from 1-7pm."

"The hotel room was spacious with safe and good air con. Nice pool area with incredible views across the harbour and across to the town centre. Excellent breakfast and adequate buffet style evening meal for those on full board. Staff very friendly and helpful - providing bottle opener and sewing kit in hour of need. Excellent location just a few minutes walk from main square. Drinks in hotel bar expensive as expected."

"What a magical stay we had at The Dreamer's Club in Lumbarda! It's a little bit of paradise tucked away in a very central location next to the pretty harbour and sweet beach only a couple of hundred yards away. With it's fragrant greenery, the terraced layout of this place is designed to make one relaaaaax and that is indeed what we did, enjoying the beautifully furnished apartment and delicious breakfasts as we took in the stunning Croatian scenery. This really is quite something; can't recommend it highly enough!"
