"Friendly staff, contacted us on our way to ask for our time of arrival. Because it was getting late the lady fixed us soup and bread. Not a lot of space to put stuff, but that was all clearly in our description. Cosy bed and very comfortable. It’s so big you can’t find your partner at night. We could choose our breakfast in advance. All we asked was freshly made and baked. No wifi in the iglo, only in the main building. But I think if you ask for it, they can fix you something."

"The accommodation was well appointed, clean and very welcoming. We had a 4 bedroom cabin overlooking the lake. Plenty of room for the 6 of us plus a sauna. The cabins are set in the woods and are well away from each other. It was picture postcard perfect. Prior to arrival I had emailed many many questions - all of which were answered. Our principal host Kalle arranged snowmobile safari and husky safari. Both were well organised and very accessible. There is a restaurant on site in which we ate our evening meals. They were single menu items which we had pre booked. The meals were three courses, first and dessert served at the table and the main was a buffet style - good for us as we could choose our quantities- there was also no shortage! We had a problem with our hire car and so caught a cab to the accommodation where Kalle sorted us another car. That saved the day. We were able to access our cabin early and were lucky enough to be able to keep it past our checkout time as they had nobody booked in until the next day. Ruka is approximately 15km away. It is a ski resort with bars and restaurants. I don’t know what the slopes are like as we are not a family of skiers. We accessed the slopes with sledges and had a great time. We found all those running the accommodation very personable and friendly. They couldn’t do enough for us and made our break very special. We are looking to return!"

"The hotel/apartments were great, amazing location, fully equipped apartment... The only downside was the food, we stayed half board so had breakfast in the Colorado bar, the selection was very limited and they only had one 2 slice toaster which was very frustrating. The staff were also rude and very unhelpful. Dinner was in the piste restaurant, staff were very friendly and there was a kids play area which was great. However the food selection was very poor: 2 meat options, one veg and one potato and the only drinks available were water and coffee. Each meal worked out at £26 per person per night, it was definitely not worth that when you can buy a large pizza over the road for £14! We have already booked again for next year but this time self-catering!"

"Facilities: Basic kitchenware and tableware are provided, and there are many cleaning supplies, but some tableware is not clean. Bed sheets and towels are charged per person, or you can bring your own. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. Free parking is available. Cleanliness: Self-cleaning or paid cleaning (49 euros, excluding dishwashing, garbage disposal, and bed making) is available. Self-cleaning includes vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the toilet, washing dishes, garbage disposal, and bed making. Staff will inspect the room after check-out; a 100 euro fine will be imposed for failure to clean properly. Upon check-in, some cups had food residue or coffee stains and were not cleaned properly. There were many loose threads on the bed. Environment: A 30-minute drive from Olranca National Park. There is a mountain bike track nearby. The room was very stuffy in July, reaching 30 degrees Celsius. The ventilation vents were not very effective at cooling down, and there were no windows for ventilation, making it feel like a sauna. The only way to cool down was to leave the door open. Service: A completely self-service rental without a reception desk; you can only contact the host online."

The view from the room overlooks the ski resort, the scenery is beautiful, and one night I even saw the Northern Lights from my room! Breakfast is served daily, but there's a good selection."
