Sunrise Resort Hotel

"Stunning place. On arrival we thought ho no to many steps and big cases to carry, but the hotel show you to your rooms and bring your case up to you. We booked sea view room absolutely stunning view big balcony and spacious rooms. Bathroom dated but wasn't a problem. Very clean 👌 fridge with drink and snacks in although you do have to pay for these. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels. Coffee tea and kettle. 2 pools one adults if you like quiet. Breakfast ok although I'm fussy with food abroad I always found something and you can request fried eggs or a omelette. Staff very friendly, 2 bars and very relaxing places to site. We walked down into molivos although the hotel has a free shuttle bus to take you down. The walk is about 20 minutes. Taxi up is 7 euros or you can take the free shuttle bus. Iron's also available on request at no charge, safe in rooms no charge. Free WiFi that works brilliant. All in all it's a perfect hotel would definitely book again. Not good for people with walking disability due to lots of steps."

"Stayed here between 5th and 7th of May. Lovely clean apartments with great views and everything you would need for a holiday. Beds really comfortable. Food was also very good. Owners and staff very hospitable. A little way out of the resort so probably not great if you have mobility issues but good if you like a walk. You can avoid the main road to Petra just ask the owners for directions and there is a lovely quiet walk that takes you straight to the church on the rock."

"Wonderful place. Clean, calm, friendly Service and a very nice pool area where no one fights for the pool chairs Close to the beach too. Around 300m from an expensive but luxurious beach bare and a 15 min walk from town. Vasilis and his family and other employees are all smiles. Only hard beds, and a lot of wasps deduct a little. Its also not friendly to people with Mobility issues. Ask for a room up high for awesome views."

Aphrodite Beach Hotel

"A very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Our room's air conditioning was a bit slow, largely because the cleaners insisted on leaving the windows/doors to our room open once they'd been in the morning so the day's heat was allowed to penetrate inside. Why couldn't they shut everything after, say, thirty minutes or whatever? Clearing this took more power than the air con units could really muster. A small matter really as we weren't uncomfortable. Breakfast was good enough, fresh eggs, bread, pastries etc. The taverna/cafe was very good, authentic Greek food...and I don't mean waterfront/beach tourist Greek Salad authentic. Very tasty, very basic, good value and plenty of it. Visited by many from outside the hotel, who also used the hotel's pool. Mid day the pool was complete mayhem. Children turned the pool into a warzone running laps, divebombing, lilo fights screaming and shouting. I witnessed hotel guests arguing with pool visitors (non-hotel guests) over sunbeds, and the visitors lying they did indeed stay at the hotel and were Jet2 clients - highly unlikely as they were clearly Dutch! I also noticed visitors removing a guest's shirt and towel from a bed so they could use it, even though visitors are only allowed the use of a small fraction of sunbeds. A really poor experience, and we didn't use the pool area for the rest of the holiday. I brought the matter up with reception who thanked us for mentioning it but stated non hotel guests only used the pool at weekends, but this was clearly not the case. We asked why there wasn't an occasional pool attendant and were told staff were too busy working in the restaurant as they get a lot of outside visitors! We had a hire car and were thankful we hadn't elected to walk into town at night. Steep uphill for the first half mile, and if a warm night then a bit of a hike. Lots of people getting taxis, quite wisely, but Lesvos is a fantastic island with some very lovely places to visit - particularly restaurants, so why not hire a car and do the island justice? To summarise - a good hotel experience, marred by carnage at the pool. If you want the whole island experience then the Aphrodite is perfect, if you want lazy times by the pool with a book while your child plays then check you have ear plugs and your child is a confident swimmer and isn't deterred by groups of other kids racing, bombing, diving, screaming etc etc "

"A lovely small hotel in Petra old town. The room was very cozy and clean. The owner is a lovely lady. We had breakfast included which was amazing. Bread, eggs, fresh orange juice and lots of pasteries each morning. Only a few minutes walk to the beach and the shops/bars/restaurants. As we had to leave early we got some breakfast to take with us I really can recommend a stay here, you won't be disappointed."

Malemi Organic Hotel

"Don't be fooled by the description of this being an Organic Hotel! I didn't see any evidence of this and was quite horrified by the number of caged animals and birds kept at the hotel! I expected to see nicely tended fields growing fresh produce but sadly was met with only untidy wasteland. It's really not worthy of it's 3 star status. It's very tired and dated. I found the room to be clean but the bed was really uncomfortable. Bathroom in much need of an update. Felt as though the owners had lost interest in the place. Many of the sunbeds around the pool were broken. Breakfast was OK but never saw one table being cleaned! Don't go to Scala Kalonis for a beach holiday as the beach is very littered and the sea is too shallow for swimming. It felt very neglected. The only good thing about the resort was the nice Tavernas. I will not be returning as there are much nicer resorts and accommodation in Lesvos."

"The rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms look good, renovated (except for the sanitary ware), the location is special. The beach is gorgeous, large, fine sand, very sparsely populated, the entrance to the sea is extremely gentle, the water is clean, clear, there are no waves. The only negative aspect is the restaurant. I find it unacceptable that a restaurant located on the seashore does not have fish on the menu. They served fish once a week. We had half board. There is a difference (both in quantity and quality) between the same dish served at lunch, when we paid, and served at dinner, on the half board account (although the price of dinner was included in the accommodation price, it's not like we didn't pay for it!). Breakfast was identical every morning, but we managed. On the other hand, many compliments for Magda, who serves breakfast and lunch and who is fantastic!"
