Alpine Classic Hotel
7.5 (38 reviews)

Alpine Classic Hotel ★★★

📍 Classic, Hôtel, La Cité 4, Leysin

"Checked into the Alpine Classic hotel at village Leysin, 4100' above sea level. The hotel is good. Although the food has been good throughout, this hotel has the biggest & the best room of the tour so far. We are scheduled to visit a glacier 9850' above sea level tomorrow. Dinner, however, was very average. Hotel is clean & well maintained. Staff is indifferent & service is average. Location is peaceful and nature is all around."

La Tour d'Aï
7.9 (8 reviews)

La Tour d'Aï ★★

📍 14 Route des Ormonts, Leysin

"Booked very last minute as it was a 5 min drive from Leysin Tobboganing Park. Very reasonably priced , free parking next to the hotel , bus stop right at the door if needed. Rooms are a little dated but have everything you need and it was very clean with a balcony, wonderful Mountain View and continental breakfast was included in the price. Small town so close to restaurants etc and a lovely children’s park just down the road. The lady on reception was very helpful and welcoming , we would stay again."

Hôtel le Grand Chalet

Hôtel le Grand Chalet ★★★

📍 Chem. de la Source 2, Leysin

"Nice hotel and lovely staff. We have a good time staying here."

Leysin Lodge

Leysin Lodge ★★★

📍 Rte de Plan Praz, Leysin

"Booked here as my husband wanted to look at mountains while having a morning coffee and wow it certainly delivered that. Views are amazing and the balcony got the sun all day. We booked a comfort room. It had 2 bedrooms, one had bunk beds for the kids. The kitchen was well equipped including an oven and coffee machine. The balcony was great and could comfortably fit all 4 of us 2 adults and 2 teens. As well as table and chair to eat at, there were also deckchairs to lounge in. The staff are great, very helpful and friendly. You can also pay and get pastries delivered on a morning. You just pop your form into the reception the day before. The only minor issue is the car park is down the hill, not a problem for me but the kids had a moan. You can take the car up to drop off stuff but then it needs to be parked in the car park. Although the views are fab the downside to this, is that it's located up a few steep hills, going down is ok but it's quite a trek going up. Phew. There is plenty of parking in Leysin for when we were feeling lazy. There are a couple of supermarkets in Leysin, we preferred the Coop and some lovely restaurants. We particularly loved the Turkish Street food and kids loved the pancakes at Creperie des Alpes. We also took the chair lift from the village and drove down into Aigle where there was a festival on and had a great time. Leysin was a great base for exploring the places we wanted to visit. Including Montreux on lake Geneva. We hired a car and never had a problem parking anywhere."

Hotel Central Résidence
8.1 (52 reviews)

Hotel Central Résidence ★★★

📍 Belvédère 20, Leysin

"A wonderful hotel that our tour group used for five days. The lobby is decorated in a typical Swiss style and so is the very large restaurant/dining room. Our room on the ground floor was clean, spacious, albeit sparsely furnished but that was OK. No refrigerator. The bathroom was clean, had a hairdryer, good water pressure, plenty of hot water, only one towel per person. The view from the balcony was amazing, we could see the Alps and the outdoor swimming pool. The service was always pleasant and efficient, everyone in the hotel spoke English. We had all breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, every day there was a large variety of delicious choices, refilled promptly. A big plus is a heated indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna."

Alpine Classic Hotel ★★★
"1. The shower bracket was broken so the shower head kept falling off. 2. There were red and brown stains on the walls and curtains. 3. The ropes on the flag poles outside were tapping all night. However, the staff on the reception and bar were friendly and helpful. The young lady working at the bar was lovely. There was also a microwave oven at the bar that guests could use to warm up snacks. I expect you could warm baby food and milk there as well. Leysin itself doesn’t really have much to offer visitors apart from skiing and a few gift shops. The pavements in Leysin have not been very well maintained and there were loose cobbles that could pose a hazard to older people or children. Neither would it be suitable for those in a wheelchair or using walkers as Leysin is situated on a long, winding road leading up a hill to a ski lift at the top. A small railway in Leysin takes you down to nearby Aigle that has more in the way of shops as well as a railway station and bus station. It also has a few beggers, so be careful!"
