New Fairmount Hotel and Casino ★★★

📍 Plot 441/442, Mosi - Oa - Tunya Road, Livingstone

"The hotel provides considerate service from check-in to check-out, and the front desk is warm and professional, which makes you feel like you are in the spring breeze. The guest rooms are stylishly designed, and the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offer a panoramic view of the city night view. The bedding is selected from top brands, and you can fall into a cloud-like sleeping experience. The gym is equipped with Technogym equipment, and the water quality of the heated swimming pool is comparable to that of a private club. Chinese and Western breakfasts are cooked to order, and the Benedict eggs are a must. The cleaning lady even arranges the cosmetics in an artistic shape, which satisfies detail lovers!"

"I highly recommend my hotel in Livingstone. The environment here is very good, the staff is very enthusiastic, you can communicate with the front desk about the itinerary and ask the front desk to help book a car to Kazungula Pass and enter Botswana. The breakfast here is very clean, there is a pizza oven in the kitchen, where you can eat freshly made pizza, and you can watch the European Cup. There is also a bar in the hotel where you can come here to relax and meet other people at night. Highly recommended, affordable, beautiful environment, and friendly staff. I highly recommend the hotel I stayed at in Livingstone. The environment is beautiful and relaxing, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can easily communicate with the front desk to help arrange your itinerary, including booking a ride to the Kazungula border for entry into Botswana. for relaxing in the evening and meeting new people. I truly enjoyed my stay here. Great value for money, lovely surroundings, and genuinely kind staff. Highly recommended!"

Protea Hotel Livingstone

Protea Hotel Livingstone ★★★

📍 Mosi-O-Tunya Road, Livingstone

"This is a fine hotel, but not quite up to Marriott standards. Although we had non-smoking rooms in two different parts of the hotel, we could smell smoke several times throughout our stay in our rooms. We ate at the restaurant, and some of the food was great, and some was OK. We did not get sick on the food. This hotel was conveniently located for doing the Devil's pool."

Kamunjila Lodge
8.9 (56 reviews)

Kamunjila Lodge ★★★

📍 55 Mwela St, Livingstone

"The welcome is warm and, being in French thanks to the manager François, helps you feel at home. The place is very well maintained and the atmosphere is serene. The staff is attentive. The lodges are rather simple but well appointed, clean and comfortable enough to make you feel at home. The food is very very good and the menu changes daily. It is a luxury to be able to count on the permanent presence of François who was able to put together a program adapted to our stay. It was a real pleasure to be able to end our trip to Namibia with this last stop in Zambia."

Tongabezi Lodge Hotels in Livingstone

Tongabezi Lodge

"We stayed 4 nights at Tongabezi. I have traveled a lot and been to many luxury lodges, but I have rarely experienced this level of hospitality. When we arrived, we were appointed one valet and one guide. They stayed with us the whole time and were truly amazing. A special thanks to Patience for taking such good care of us and making sure every detail during our stay was perfect, and thank you to Abi for his everlasting knowledge and kindness that truly made each activity with him unforgettable. We stayed in the cottages, and they were amazing. The beds were super comfortable and had heated mattresses to make sure we weren't cold at night. The bathroom was incredible, and one night after dinner we even had a hot bubble bath waiting for us! The view was breathtaking. There were always hippos in front of our terrace, and we enjoyed incredible sunsets every evening from there. The food was delicious. Thanks to the chef and his whole team for giving us fresh food and bread every day! Almost every vegetable and fruit came from the lodge’s organic garden. Everything was homemade, from breakfast to dinner, and you could really tell. For every meal we had a different table, offering us a new view. We even had lunch in the organic garden, where we picked the vegetables for lunch and cooked with the chef. I really loved this lunch — it was a very nice surprise! The hotel has two pools (though we never used them). It also has a very nice and complete gym with excellent machines. The bar is also really nice, with incredible bartenders who can make a wide variety of delicious cocktails. To conclude: a truly exceptional lodge with incredible people working there. Thank you again to the whole Tongabezi team for this unforgettable stay. If you come to Livingstone, this is the place to be!"

"Location is the outstanding point for this hostel, just behind Livingstone museum and walking distance to many shops and supermarket. The price of drink or food was quite high but acceptable. Staff was ok."

New Fairmount Hotel and Casino ★★★
"The hotel is in dire need of renovation. There's no hairdryer or iron in the room, the mattresses feel like they're in a hole and need replacing immediately, the sheets are white but already washed, the pillows are also lumpy, there's only soap in the bathroom, the Wi-Fi was intermittent, the breakfast is meager—they give you everything on a plate if you tell them your room number. There's nothing to see nearby; we only stayed overnight and went on excursions to Zimbabwe every day. Our flight from Zimbabwe also involved the hotel organizing a transfer to customs, and we had to get from there ourselves. If we were flying from their airport (in Zambia), they could have met us or driven us. I have no complaints about the staff; they were responsive and answered all our requests: they brought a hairdryer, an extra router, and ironed the linens."

"The stay was fantastic , clean room and very helping staff , with a basic breakfast and relaxing space and also the location is easily accessible, its on the main road and 15 min drive to the Victoria falls and across the road there is Shoprite and other restaurants around. The wifi was a bit slow sometimes. Overall stay was very good . Plus there is load shedding in zambia but they have backup power , Generator. You will definitely enjoy your stay. I needed a three pin charger and the staff provided, really appreciated that as without that I couldn’t charge my phone."

Protea Hotel Livingstone ★★★
"Very beautiful hotel with clean spaces and rooms. Food is delicious and breakfast spread is huge lol with plenty of options and never boring. Staff are a 6/10, and request took too long though some tried to engage with guests. Smiling is foreign to most staff maybe absent minded but when a child greets you it's kind to answer back. The activities desk is very organised and professional "

Victoria Falls Backpackers Zambia ★★
"I used this hostel for a solo backpacking trip. When I stayed, there didn't seem to be any other solo travelers, so I had the room all to myself. The staff were kind and polite, and the cleanliness was standard for a dormitory. Details are as follows: Wi-Fi was only available around the reception area, not in the rooms. The showers had hot water. I visited in April, and there were a lot of mosquitoes in the shower room, which was a bit disappointing. Waking up the next morning to a large spider on my pillow was a little scary, but I guess that's typical of Africa, haha. There's no air conditioning in the room, and the fans on each bed don't work, so I think it would be hot in the summer. There's a tap with drinkable water, which was convenient. The location is perfect, and they'll store your luggage in a lockable room. The staff here were very kind and wonderful, but there was one disappointing incident regarding another guest. This isn't related to the hostel itself, so I haven't included it in the rating. It's just a warning for other guests. During my stay, a traveler from Namibia, around 40 years old, approached me and we exchanged greetings. Then, without even much conversation, this person subjected me to sexual harassment that I don't want to write about here, and continued to make sexual advances afterward. No matter how many times I refused or ignored him, he kept going. There was only Wi-Fi at the reception, so I had to use it minimally before returning to my room. I was terrified of what would happen if he followed me to my room at night or ambushed me in the shower room. I considered talking to the staff, but I was afraid that he would become enraged if the staff intervened, so I ended up not saying anything. While there's always a possibility of encountering such people in a dormitory, it was truly disgusting. He said he uses this place often, so please be careful."

"This nine-room lodge nestled in a peaceful green setting is a truly pleasant place to stay for a few nights while exploring Victoria Falls and the nearby reserves. You immediately feel at home in this guesthouse, where the welcome is warm and the food delicious. The vegetables come from the small vegetable garden, and the pool and garden provide a refreshing and relaxing experience. The excursions are perfectly organized. I highly recommend it!"
