Springkell

An amazing place just 5 mins off the motorway. This stately home is mainly a wedding venue, but has rooms for travellers. Had an evening meal and a superb breakfast.

Overnight stay in this Manor House. Period features tastefully done. Beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Chose this hotel for location near to Carlisle. Dog friendly and definitely made to feel that having a dog in the hotel was welcome. The room was spacious again with period features and the bathroom was huge with quality fittings. Bed very comfortable and amenities in the room were what you would expect. Did not use the restaurant but looked popular and pre booking is available. Very grand manor house would be perfect for a wedding either inside or in the very large marque. Will definitely return to this hotel

Stayed overnight after meeting friends, was a lovely nights stay, great setting, had breakfast which was lovely. Staff were amazing, really friendly from arrival to departure, hearing the kitchen staff singing as we walked past the kitchen before our breakfast put a smile on our faces.

I stayed at Sprinkell during a business trip. The building is absolutely charming! I was greeted in reception by the most friendly member of the Sprinkell team, she couldn't do enough to ensure I had everything that I needed. Sprinkell is going through some renovations, but it didn't impact on my stay at all, it was just lovely to see this grand old building having some love and money being spent on it. If you don't go for breakfast whilst staying there, you are definitely losing out! The breakfast was amazing. I stay away with work quite a lot, and this was hands down the best breakfast I've had. When you book, they send an email with the easiest way to get to the hotel, DON'T LISTEN TO YOU'RE SAT NAV! Make sure you follow the instructions, its so much easier. Well done team Sprinkell, you made my stay an absolute pleasure, I'll definitely be back!

Another visit to this beautiful place set in outstanding countryside. The staff are excellent and attentive with great food.

Lovely place with kind staff who happily accommodated my need for oxygen equipment. Bed was very comfortable, room was quiet at night, and thick curtains kept any light out. Room was clean and spacious, while the surrounding gardens are stunning. Price very good considering it included breakfast.

Came to Sprinkell for a family wedding 29th May 2026 What a beautiful building , we were very happy with our room (11) , the room was clean and the bed cumfy , as for the bath Awesome !!!! The only niggle was there wasnt a mirror in the bedroom only the bathroom which made doing hair and make up quite difficult . I had to straighten my hair along the landing outside somones room . As a wedding venue it was lovely , the food served was spot on tho puzzled about the service charge for drinks ! I thought you only paid a service charge for food service but hey ho all in all it was a wonderful weekend with family and friends.Many Thanks

Springkell is a stunning residence surrounded by stunning grounds and scenery. So peaceful and tranquil - we were so lucky with the weather and were blessed with sunshine for our stay. The house has been maintained to the highest standard and rooms were warm and comfortable. The staff were all so helpful and our meals were delicious with generous portions. If you are looking to get away from everything somewhere we’re time almost stands still this is the place for you!

Had stayed for two nights previously. This time stayed for two more nights on a mini-tour of Scotland and Northumberland. Checking in was easy, staff were very friendly and service was first class. Interesting walk to see the abandoned Kirkconnel church and graveyard. Dinner and breakfast were really good quality. Thank you. Would be very happy to stay again.
