"Travelled just a short distance from Kendal to meet up and surprise our friend for her 60th birthday. Driven past many a time but not stopped. What a gem. Bedroom (room 6) comfortable and modern and we had the benefit of air con which was also super quiet! Liked the touch of home cooked biscuits and fresh milk for tea and coffee. Very nice. Staff brilliant - friendly and helpful. Food - dinner and breakfast- both excellent. Wish we had this pub in Kendal !"

"My husband and I arrived late, but the key box instructions were totally accurate and made everything really easy. When we opened the door, we were genuinely staggered by the standard of the room — beautifully styled, immaculately clean, and filled with thoughtful touches like gorgeous toiletries, homemade shortbread, and wonderfully fluffy gowns. Nothing had been missed. Rachel’s communication ahead of our visit was brilliant and really helped us feel prepared, with lots of useful local knowledge as an added bonus. Breakfast on both mornings was excellent, with a high-quality cooked breakfast and the perfect flat white to go with it. We’re already looking forward to returning one day soon.
