"The hotel is in a good location and there is free parking in front of the hotel. The bathroom is separated from dry and wet areas, and breakfast is not included in the accommodation. Laoma Shaobing Restaurant opposite Shadian has a great breakfast of shaobing and tofu. This is the second time I have stayed at a luxury hotel. The health and facilities are not ideal and should be improved. However, there is no better hotel in the center of Luanping County."

We didn't have to take a taxi to get there). There was a super nice lady (the owner?) who tried to teach us a few Chinese words and kept our bags safe while we were visiting. The restaurant is quite nice too. Would definitely recommend!"

"This guesthouse was very comfortable and felt right at home. The lady cooking was delicious and the portions were generous. The gentleman was very kind and would drive us to the Great Wall entrance when he had time. The recommended route is to take the cable car up from the entrance, walk through Dajinshan Tower and Dongwuyan Tower, and exit from the East Gate, which leads directly to Huinong Farmhouse – very convenient and avoids backtracking. You can call ahead to order, so you can have your meal ready in no time. Breakfast also includes hot porridge and eggs – a truly comprehensive service. The gentleman knows many routes along the undeveloped sections of the Great Wall, but we didn't have time this time. I'll definitely stay here again next time I have the chance."

The owner is a very professional local photographer, a chef, and a waiter. He is really an all-rounder, and he is a good person and has two talents. My parents-in-law were so kind. We drove to the visitor center to pick up my runner’s bag. We were in a B&B, so we didn’t expect five-star accommodation. Since there was nothing nearby, we ate breakfast and dinner at the B&B. Food from my hometown. Beijing eats more whole grains. , different people have different opinions on whether they like it or not, but I like it the most, especially millet porridge and millet cakes! The B&B is run by a family. The proprietress will take care of herself as soon as she receives the guest. She will speak up if there is anything, so it really feels like home. The rooms are clean and well-managed. This is a B&B in the wilderness of the mountains. Such super-standard service is very outstanding! I will choose Wanlai again next time!"

At 23:30 last night, people in other rooms in the corridor were still making loud noises, which was very speechless. A deposit of 100 is required for check-in, and it cannot be refunded upon check-out, only 100 in cash, but it must be paid after the cleaning staff has checked the room (I don't understand what the 100 deposit is for in such a shabby hotel with nothing in the room?). "We booked two nights at this hotel. What we liked was that it was very spacious, and also really clean. Also the airconditioning was easy to setup and worked really well so we could sleep good! It was also very nice that the hotel has this free shuttle to the trainstation in Gubeikou: they didn’t tell us about it though, I had to find out myself when I asked them to call us a taxi. I do have to point out that this place was a little weird. We were here in off-season, so I understand that maybe some services/amneties are not in use, but at some moments we felt a bit unwelcome. They promote their café with specialty coffee in their photos, but this was closed most of the time. We managed to order coffee two times, but the staff acted as if this was really a hastle for them. Also, while the room was big and spacious, the water in the shower took a very very long time to get warm and even when it did it switched a lot between hot and cold. Locationwise, not the best: there’s no restaurants around. Only one other homestay (25-30 min walk) offered food - that was great. Also, there is no didi here, so you have to find your way around asking local people to take you somewhere and pay them. Maybe the hotel offers this as well? I don’t know, they didn’t tell us. The jinshanling Great Wall is beautiful, you can reach it by foot in about 1h. In short, it was okay. But really too expensive for what you get."
