Skjolden Resort
"We booked a two-bedroom cottage. First, the good points. The view from the cottage, which was only a couple of metres from the water's edge, is stunning. It looks across the water to the mountains beyond. It's a quiet, peaceful location. The rooms are quite spacious and the shower is good. Unfortunately, the bad points outweighed the good. I booked it because it had two bedrooms, but access to the second bedroom was via a near-vertical wooden ladder with narrow slatted rungs. Useless for anyone with mobility issues, and very awkward for anyone else. On arrival, the beds were not made up and the bedding was in plastic packaging, so we had to do it ourselves. The undersheet was single-sized and did not fit the double bed. The only furniture in either bedroom was a wardrobe (with only two coat hangers) in one of them. No bedside tables and the curtain in the bedroom let in most of the light -no good for people who like sleep in the dark when it's light outside all night. None of this is mentioned in the accommodation description and there were no photos of the inside of the accommodation. The beer and food in the restaurant were reasonably price and the food was OK, but the service was very slow."

Turtagrø Hotel
""This hotel is a little piece of paradise for hikers. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I was in a suite room. The food is excellent, both for dinner and breakfast. I recommend you to be on half-board. At breakfast, you have the option to take a doggy bag for your hike. There is also an afternoon snack provided. There is a large reading room. Very good value ! I wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you to the Turtagro team!""

Gaupnetunet Hotell og Hytter
"Enjoyed!!! What a lovely hotel for a great price. Nothing is missing. Even though the room is simple, it is sufficient!!! The beds are good, not noisy, good smart TV!!! Especially the restaurant is also recommended! Staff is very helpful and friendly. It has certainly exceeded my expectations!"
Walaker Hotel
"This is a unique hotel. Properly old, full of charm, with gorgeous food and a very warm welcome from well trained staff. It’s also a perfect spot for visit the Urnes stave church (by ferry and SO worth it)."
Lyngmo Hytter
"The apple headset forgot to go to the room and locate it in the room. Come back to find, can't find it"
Skjolden Hotel
"Lovely hotel on the fjord. We enjoyed the midnight sun, admiring the fjord from our window at 11:00PM. Pleasant scenic deck afforded a great cocktail hour. Dinner was delicious and staff were fantastic. Lovely place to stay."
Eikum Hotel
"As the other reviewers have already written: it was getting old. The carpet in my room was very worn. The furnishings in the room were coordinated. At first glance, the room was clean, but unfortunately on the last day something rolled under the bed and there were some paper towels there. The terrace was freshly cleaned and the garden was well-kept. An item found in the cupboard (from the previous guest in the room?) was not cleared away by room service, even though I had put a note with this request next to it (in English and in Norwegian using an online translation program). When I took it to reception, the junior manager immediately apologized for the inconvenience. There were a few mold stains in the bathroom, which are probably structural and unavoidable. Breakfast was very "British" with fish in sweet and sour and sweet mustard sauce. Packed lunches were available for 70 NOK. Dinner was youth hostel-like: there was meat and sauce, both fine. The potatoes were bought cheaply (some of them were sweet or brown inside), but mostly OK. The completely unseasoned frozen vegetables were half raw on the first day and partly raw and lukewarm on the second. The soup was from a packet, but an effort had been made to round it off a bit. Dessert was always a pudding with whipped cream. On the last day, the food was actually delicious: salmon, rice, salad and mustard sauce. The very young employees were very friendly, as was the junior manager. Only the senior manager always pulled a grumpy face and didn't seem to speak very friendly to the employees. The lake near the hotel is great: in just a few minutes you can be at a small beach and in summer you can swim. The Spar directly in front of the hotel is also pleasant."
