"My husband and I visited Lynton on a whim whilst on holiday in north Devon and stumbled across The Crown looking for lunch. What a gem to find. We were welcomed in and had the bar menu and special board explained, it wasn’t extensive therefore not overwhelming but had enough choices for lunch. We ordered Ham sandwich from the specials board and my husband ordered pizza and fries. The food was amazing; we ended up sharing the dishes between us because it was all so tasty."

"Very peaceful location, spotlessly clean and fresh smelling. Room was very comfortable, well equipped - tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bottled water and biscuits. Breakfast was hot, tasty and very well presented - you choose from a breakfast menu the previous evening and this idea certainly works. Hosts very pleasant and helpful gave us a few ideas of where to eat and have a drink at. Weather was glorious and we really enjoyed visiting the area again after a long gap - beautiful walks along the river and around the area. Thank you."

"Penny and Drew were very hospitable. The breakfasts were perfectly cooked. The Fernery room we stayed in was beautiful. Lovey bed and breakfast. Highly recommended. The accommodation is in the heart of Lynmouth close to lots of restaurants and an ideal location for the South West coast path."

"Wish we had read the reviews before visiting! We thought it was a lovely setting and was surprised there wasn’t more people there, but we would try the cream tea. £16 for 2 tiny scones each, a small bowl of cream to share and the same of cheap jam ( we couldn’t work out what jam it was meant to be) like other people have mentioned there is no toilets as “it is a guest house “ as we were told and he wanted payment asap. Shame, but we won’t be back."
