"This is a relatively new property and the hotel is lovely with great views of Lake Huron and Mackinac Island, with just one caveat after dark. Conveniently located near many tourist attractions, shops and restaurants/breweries. They had a cool feature I loved, a sparking water dispenser in the lobby. Nice outdoor balcony / patio on the beach side rooms as well as off the cafe/lounge area with large picture windows over looking the lake off the lobby/lounge area. This made for a great viewing of the sunrise. And the beach is accessible on the lower level or down the stairs right off the balcony. This location also has a bar which is something not often seen in the standard Hampton Inn's. Breakfast was the typical Hampton Inn offerings. The staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean. And unlike most hotels, this hotel has a energy about it that brought about community, I don't know if it's because the majority of the guests were older, but many of guests chatted and exchanged cordials and pleasantries. It was nice to hear about everyone's travels, the neat places they had been and plans for the upcoming week. The only negative that I feel is worth mentioning because it did change our experience. We loved the views, however, we and several of the other guests were chatting on our balconies after dark as were not real happy about the overhead lights that came on after sunset. It wasn't the ambiance I was looking for as I set there under the spotlights with a glass of wine trying to relax listening to the lake waves and taking in the view of the night sky. I'm like this is okay, I'll just walk down to the grounds and was going to go down to the the nice little seating area to the side of the hotel that was not in the direct light, however we observed several guests using that area for their dogs to relieve themselves. And it didn't seem like the lights of the lobby balcony were as intense. The room balcony lights were intensely bright and added a lot of light pollution for viewing the beautiful lake and star gazing. We were trying to photograph Saturn, but the added light made it difficult for my camera to focus properly. I feel bad for wishing they had put in the tempered glass panels instead of the bar rail type with supports because it's obvious they spent a great deal on these balconies and nice Adirondack chairs. But I'm just a little over 5ft, sitting in the Adirondack chair, I couldn't see over the hand rail and had to look through the support rails, so I moved the desk chair out so I could raise it up to see over the hand rail. Otherwise the seating is so close to the support rails you can't look past them if you know what I mean, just felt kind of cagey. But if you are lucky enough to score a 1st floor patio room this would not be an issue. Several us also were chatting during breakfast that we thought being so close to the lake that we would be able to hear the waves. The weather was perfect for leaving the sliding glass door o"

"While this place is technically a bed & breakfast, it was certainly appreciated that we were not forced to do bed-and-breakfast activities. In fact, we were not even asked to; the experience was more like staying in a hotel. The spa area was surprisingly charming, and the entire establishment was clean. It was a little bit difficult to navigate how to get in, which is just through the café doors in the front, and the only thing I would suggest, is to add mini fridges to the rooms."

"You will be glad you picked this motel! The gentleman checking us in was very friendly and efficient. He assigned us to room 112 and what a great corner unit. I highly recommend asking if it's available. We just left and we had a great 2 nights. The motel gives 70's vibes but the bathroom has been very well updated, the bed was nice with 4 pillows, 3 drawers under the tv, a rack for your clothes. The carpet was in great condition and the whole unit was very clean and fresh. The fridge was very cold and we didn't use the coffee maker. It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the Shepler's ferry and the Arnold Transit was right next door to Shepler's. We have stayed at many hotels that cost much more that were dirty and in bad shape."

"After we left on Monday June 22, following a two night stay on Tuesday June 23, there was a charge of 500.00 pending on my CC phones the property as I had already paid for the room. Accused us of smoking in the room which we absolutely did not. My friends son is a heart transplant recipient two years out, is on oxygen at night for sleep apnea who in their right mind would smoke 🤦‍♀️ His mom does smoke however, always outside with door closed and putting butts put in a cup with water. Ridiculous, room charge was expensive. Have never had an experience like this ever, will definitely not be staying here AGAIN."

"We went to Mackinac Island in Michigan, a movie shooting location that went back 70 years. The hotel is outside the island. The hotel is a bit old but very clean."

Hampton Inn by Hilton St Ignace Lakefront Mackinac ★★
"We stayed at this location for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier. The room was clean and comfortable and had a balcony with chairs overlooking the lake. We watched the sunrise each morning from our room. It was October and a little chilly so we weren't on the balcony like we would have been if it had been warmer - but there were plenty of nice, comfortable common places in the hotel to sit and see the lake, have a drink, and relax outside our room. The design of this hotel is well thought out. It has a nice common area with large windows overlooking the lake for the morning breakfast bar. The ladies attending to the breakfast bar did a top notch job - well stocked, cleaned up promptly after people's little spills, and were on top of it. There was a variety of items and the main dishes changed up every morning - this was a nice perk of the stay. This hotel has a loft area that we really enjoyed overlooking the lake, the downstairs common area, and leads out to a roof top bar that looked great - just not the right time of year to enjoy that. We did take advantage of the hot tub one evening with was large and again well maintained - overlooking the lake. I would come back to the area just to stay at this hotel! ha! ha!"
