"I did not want to have to write this review, however I have contacted both this hotel and Hilton corporate and did not receive any response, which is completely unacceptable given the circumstances. There was a major safety issue that occurred during our recent stay at the Hampton Inn St Ignace Lakefront Mackinac on 7/18/2025. There was a section of our carpet that was ripped and unsecured. Below the ripped carpet, there were a number of exposed nails. Unfortunately, during our stay, my wife unknowingly stepped on this area and punctured her foot. We will had to seek medical attention. It was not only painful and distressing, but it seriously disrupted our travel, especially given the reason for our stay was to attend a funeral. We have stayed at many Hilton properties and choose Hilton for consistent quality and high standards. However, this experience has left us deeply disappointed and concerned for future guests in that room (209). We now know this isnt being taken seriously and I would be surprised if they inspect the room and fixed the issue."

"Although it was close to the main street it was well sound proof and not noisy at all. The room had everything and the service was superior … super friendly, fast acting and helpful. I even forgot something in the room and they called me when i was already on the ferry back to mainland but they still send it well packed onto the next ferry so that i just had to wait for the next ferry to return. There is no reason to stay at the grand hotel because this hotel is “grand” 😉"

"This motel has a beautiful location right on the lake shore with a nice beach. Our room had a beautiful view of the water from two sides of the room. And we were able to park right next to our room so it was easy to run outside and get things from the car. The wood paneling in the room was really beautiful and the bed was nice and comfy. On the minus side, the space in the room was very limited both in the room itself and in the bathroom. This is an older motel and I'm assuming the lack of space is a reflection of when it was built. The shower is certainly a vintage one. There does seem to be a more modern section of the motel and I would assume that some of the negatives would not appear in the newer section but then you'd lose the beautiful view and being able to park right next to your room. One other negative is the driveway into the motel. It's very steep and it's hard to see what traffic is coming from the left as you exit."

"As soon as we enter in our room there is an pleasant smell that triggered my sinusitis. The management come to our room in the morning and with oit knocking on the room just open the door and I am on my under wear due that I just get out on the shower. Hopeful management no matter what the circumstances they knocks before entering the room."

"While this place is technically a bed & breakfast, it was certainly appreciated that we were not forced to do bed-and-breakfast activities. In fact, we were not even asked to; the experience was more like staying in a hotel. The spa area was surprisingly charming, and the entire establishment was clean. It was a little bit difficult to navigate how to get in, which is just through the café doors in the front, and the only thing I would suggest, is to add mini fridges to the rooms."

"After we left on Monday June 22, following a two night stay on Tuesday June 23, there was a charge of 500.00 pending on my CC phones the property as I had already paid for the room. Accused us of smoking in the room which we absolutely did not. My friends son is a heart transplant recipient two years out, is on oxygen at night for sleep apnea who in their right mind would smoke 🤦♀️ His mom does smoke however, always outside with door closed and putting butts put in a cup with water. Ridiculous, room charge was expensive. Have never had an experience like this ever, will definitely not be staying here AGAIN."
