Travelodge Maldon ★★★
"Stayed for 1 night after attending a wedding nearby. Rooms were very clean, beds were comfy. Lisa was on reception when we checked in and when we checked out. She was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. One"

"I am sorry to say this was not a good experience our first room was dirty the bed linen was not clean the hot water was almost non existing and grossly overpriced even the manager agreed with all our complaints. We have paid less and had a lot better ,had we been given the room we were moved to because our floor was flooded we may not have complained as we said not a good experience"

Le Bouchon Brasserie & Hotel ★★★★
"A historic hotel with an antique design.. There is no elevator, so carrying luggage up and down is a bit difficult. The room is smaller than expected, there is no desk, and the radiator is old, so it was quite cold even though it was March. The restaurant does not serve dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays. (Breakfast is available every day; it is à la carte and quite satisfying.) We stayed for one night on a Monday, and we checked in without any issues after receiving a check-in guide email, with no staff at the front desk.. There is a Tesco & Aldi shopping mall 10 minutes away, and it is also nice to walk about 20-30 minutes to the High Street for downtown shopping or take a stroll in Promenade Park. The bus stop is also close.. Aside from the small room, I was generally satisfied.. The staff are friendly.."

"Good points Lovely looking pub in the centre of town- Very nice staff Very nice breakfast Very nice clean white cotton bedding & comfortable bed & towels & dressingowns Good quality selection of tea/ coffee in room No so good points Absolutely baking room with a basic fan which made no difference Sash windows that open only about a foot Noisy road most of the night Church bell going off at least every hour really nearby! Very steep stairs Couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to work as per room brochure instructions Toiletries were miniature and some hadn’t been / refilled or replenished No parking apart from paying for a local car park We booked this after reading good reviews- struggled to get parked anywhere and ended up paying in a nearby car park We did book during a heatwave but didn’t expect the room to be like an absolute oven Lovely lady doing breakfast said it was down to have air done- I read some different reviews that last year was exactly the same in the rooms-unacceptly hot! I’m sure this would be a cosy lovely place to stay in the winter but the point is you are paying for somewhere to rest your head after a long drive and get a good nights sleep - we didn’t get that So £138 for an awful sleep and a lovely breakfast isn’t what I’d recommend - sorry"
