"My first experience with the NRMA Merimbula Beach Holiday Resort was fantastic and satisfying because booking was easy and the email information was clear and simple. The receptionist is friendly, and the room key is ready for me once I provide my details. The cabin is clean and tidy, with all the basic needs, just like a hotel! I liked the car park area, where I could easily load and unload my stuff from the vehicle. I will be back again!"

"The following is my experience, compiled by deepseek. I was extremely disappointed with the service and facilities of this hotel, which were completely unworthy of over 1,000 RMB per night, not to mention the additional "late check-in fee." First, we arrived at the hotel an hour later than scheduled, but the front desk demanded a 60 AUD "late check-in fee." This charge is unprecedented in other similar hotels in Australia; most offer self-check-in and don't require any extra fees. Even more infuriating, after we negotiated with the front desk, they demanded we pay upfront to check in. After payment, the front desk simply gave us our room number and said, "The room isn't locked, just go in." This attitude of providing absolutely no service is unacceptable. However, the terrible experience didn't end there. Upon entering the room, we found it to be in extremely poor condition; the table was crawling with ants, completely failing to meet basic hygiene standards. Maintaining room cleanliness is a fundamental requirement for a hotel, but this hotel clearly couldn't even do that. Furthermore, the room's soundproofing was extremely poor; the sounds of guests walking in the hallway were clearly audible, severely disrupting our rest and making it impossible to sleep at night, completely defeating the purpose of staying at a hotel. Even more frustrating was the extremely low quality of the hotel's amenities. The shower gel, shampoo, and other products were not only cheap but also extremely unpleasant to use, completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. Overall, this hotel's service, cleanliness, soundproofing, and amenities quality fell far short of expectations, even to the point of being utterly terrible. We paid for the service but received nothing commensurate with our payment. This irresponsible attitude has completely eroded my confidence in this hotel. I hope the hotel management will address these issues and improve service quality; otherwise, it will only lead to more disappointment and dissatisfaction among guests. In any case, I will absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I hope other guests will avoid this irresponsible hotel."

"The best thing about this hotel is that it has a water park and a swimming pool with the same temperature as a hot spring. There is no free shuttle bus to the airport, but the good news is that you can drive to the airport to return your car."

Sails Luxury Apartments Merimbula
"My wife and I stayed at Sails Luxury Apartments to give ourselves a few days of escape. The first floor apartment was quite large, with two bedrooms - the main bedroom with ensuite; a large bathroom which had a washing machine and dryer; a fully equipped kitchen; a large lounge room with seating for 5 or 6; and a huge wrap around verandah. The apartment was very comfortable and very clean, with uninterrupted views of Merimbula inlet and lake. Rhys, the manager was a terrific and very welcoming and helpful. It is an easy walk into town across the bridge where there are lots of restaurants. There is also a terrific boardwalk along the edge of the lake. the walk takes you to a restaurant, eventually, but check opening times, as it is a long walk back! The main letdown is that the apartment is showing its age and some things are dating. I feel an update and modernisation is needed to truly warrant the title "luxury". Also, the location is very close to the bridge to Merimbula, with a very busy intersection just in front. There is traffic noise most of the day, but it stops by 7-pm. The airport is also very close, and the landing path is directly in front of the apartment. The planes pass VERY close, if you were a little higher you could look into the plane windows and wave to the passengers. This did not work us a lot, as we lived near a major RAAF base and had very loud jets often fly over (but not close). Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sails Luxury Apartments, which I give 4 stars out of 5."

"I've stayed in the Merimbula Gardens Motel a few times over the years, and while the rooms are quite dated now the attractive price reflects that. The location is excellent and the staff are very competent, friendly and helpful. I will be happy to stay again in future."

Comfortable porch area, large living room and functional kitchen & laundry. Pool water warm so enjoyed longer plays and relaxing soaks. Weber area at facility rear made for easy BBQ nights. Would return."
