"The house is two-story. The upper floor has a heater in the living room, but none of the three rooms on the first floor have heaters. It will be a bit cold in August. The faucet in the master bathroom shower room cannot be turned off. When calling someone to fix it, you need to speak pure English. If you don't speak English, you can't handle this kind of problem."

"Fabulous location, thoughtfully appointed apartment that was quiet, spacious and generously furnished. A short walk to the water, restaurants and supermarkets. Underground secure car parking with easy access. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer, games cupboard for the kids, smart tv and internet. We’ll definitely be back. "

"Everything was good overall. Great location close to the beach. Cleanliness was okay, though some small details could use a bit of maintenance. The only minor downside was the very small bathroom sink. Still, I would definitely come back."

Cetacea Luxury Apartments

"We hadn’t been to Cetacea in 20+ years and sadly, not much has changed. Aside from the location which remains fabulous, the building itself is quite tired. Rooms are dated and worn, cleanliness also a bit questionable. For the price you pay, it’s definitely not “luxury”, more conveniently located and perfect to get around on foot. Whilst we have some wonderful memories from our own childhood here, it didn’t feel well looked after and needs a bit of TLC. Not sure we will return, especially with young children, but the location is hard to beat."

"We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment upstairs apartment was very neat and tidy , self contained kitchen had all requirements, east facing balcony with view to the beach , off street parking , heated pool, bbq area with outdoor furniture Excellent for families with large playground and open park area opposite , also good for older people with ground floor units . Coffee shop/cafe and also take away shop across the road 5 minute walk to beach and Merimbula lake 20 minute walk across the bridge to town A great place to stay with on-site managers Madelyn and Gary very helpful and pleasant to deal with We look forward to staying again"

Kingfisher Motel (Adults Only)

"If I could give more stars, I would. We were on a road trip from Melbourne to Sydney. That day, we were driving from Lakes Entrance to Broulee, where we would spend the night. But a little outside Merimbula, our car broke down. So we were standing in the middle of nowhere, with 2 kids, with the sun going down. We called for roadside assistance. Sam was very helpful. But the real angel was Derryl, the towtruck guy. A 60-something guy went out of his way to help us with our luggage and helped us get a room to stay for the night. He brought us to Kingfisher Motel, where the owners were super kind. They gave us a room, charged us less for it because we were in trouble, heated up the barbecue for us to eat, offered to buy us pizza if we didn't have anything to eat, took us to the car repair shop the next day to get our car. They were so nice, and I was overwhelmed with their warmth and positivity. I would give Kingfisher Motel and Merimbula town a double thumbs up."

"Great location close to centre of town. Very clean and well presented. Middle of the range fare in building beginning to show its age. Shower in ensuite needs attention as flow is very poor. Major issue with me if shower is second rate morning/evening. Double and three piece lounge in living area way past it’s used by date and needs urgent attention. Not comfortable to relax on at end of day."
