"The hotel's location couldn't be more convenient, right by the Shinkansen exit. Downstairs, there are several restaurants, including yakiniku, ramen, and BBQ. I highly recommend Fuku no Ken – their grilled skewers are absolutely delicious, as is their oden, and it's all very affordable. The twin beds in the double room are very spacious, and you can push them together. The floor-to-ceiling window offers a direct view of Mount Fuji, and we had clear skies every day of our stay, which was beautiful. The room details are also very refined, and there's even a special jewelry stand. The breakfast selection isn't huge, and there aren't many hot dishes. We mostly relied on miso soup and ochazuke (rice with hot tea/broth). However, salads and fruits were plentiful.
When we checked out, I forgot my passport at the hotel. Not long after, the hotel proactively called me. I was already on the Shinkansen, but I quickly rushed off before the train departed to retrieve it. It was a close call, but the hotel's service was truly efficient and timely."
"A business hotel with the basic necessities for short stays. Most guests are business travellers, guests on vacation may have to manage their expectation. The 2 lady front desk staffs were very helpful when we enquired about Hakone travel pass. Even with language barrier, they were trying their best to communicate using google translation. Breakfast was delicious, especially the curry rice, only ¥550 per hotel guest.
If you spend most of the time out to visit place of interests and just need a place to shower and rest, this can be an option to consider."
"Let's start with the downsides:
The room was tiny, and the shower equally cramped. At 185cm, I found it impossible to bend over comfortably. The 1.4-meter double bed was also minuscule; it was far too cramped for a family of three. I'd strongly suggest the hotel rethink allowing two adults and one child in a single room! We had to pay an additional 3,000 JPY cash per night for our 8-year-old upon arrival, which essentially only covered some basic toiletries. It felt like a hefty charge just to be squeezed into a tiny space. I urge everyone to consider this carefully before booking.
I also ran into the issue with navigating Mishima Station that previous reviews mentioned. I've included a screenshot of a GPT-generated solution for reference. Personally, I found the situation quite illogical! This seems like a straightforward system issue that should be easily fixable.
Right outside the hotel, there's a bus stop for the Mt. Fuji climbing route. Be sure to check the return times, as the bus fare is quite pricey compared to JR train tickets. We went up the mountain in the morning under bright sunshine and pleasant weather. However, by the afternoon, it suddenly turned foggy, rainy, and windy, making it incredibly damp and cold. Definitely bring a jacket; the weather is highly unpredictable. On a side note, I have to commend the bus driver – they were incredibly skilled, driving quite fast even on mountain roads that were slick/covered! Very impressive.
Our stay happened to coincide with a Japanese national holiday and the Mishima Grand Festival, a major event for the city. Mishima was incredibly lively and bustling. There were many Japanese families with young children staying at the hotel, which suggests it's a popular choice among locals.
Ramen is served from 9:30 PM – it's basically freshly prepared instant ramen, haha. The broth was a little salty, but it tasted good, and you could ask for seconds if you wanted.
Unfortunately, I cut my leg this trip and wasn't able to try out the 12th-floor onsen. I heard they offer popsicles in the evening and Yakult in the morning there. I'd still consider staying here on my next visit to Mishima, hoping to experience the onsen then."
"The smallest room I have ever stayed in in Japan. The key is that the bed is too small... The front desk is also very small. At first, I doubted whether it was the front desk. But the service is good."
"I stayed here for the dining experience. They provided everything from welcome wine and breakfast to laundry and drying! I'd like to stay for multiple nights next time."
"Convenient location, breakfast is super delicious! !
It is very convenient to live here to go to the Godenbatch.
The price of Saturday is very beautiful, it is recommended to order breakfast."
"Retro hotel, bathroom is a public bathhouse, girls can lock the door, the appointment time will put hot water first. Tatami room, the bed is very warm. Breakfast fish is grilled and an appointment time is required. Overall great."
"The location of this apartment hotel is excellent. It is very close to the Shinkansen station and within easy walking distance, which made our travel very convenient. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful, and pleasant. The apartment itself was clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything we needed. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay."
