"We stayed in the Villa as group of 4 friends and it was perfect. Great privacy and a lovely plunge pool to cool off during the heat of the day. Worth noting one room has a large double bed and the other two singles, but the staff (who were amazing btw) added an extra single bed for us. Unfortunately we only stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the villa so much we only did one main activity, the boat safari which was really unique. Loved “bird island”!! We also did an evening walk to the small lake close by for a sundowner which was a lot of fun too! The food was good and the main lodge in the evening was buzzing which made for a great atmosphere. There were a few families staying at the same time who also seemed to be having a great time so the place definitely has a mix of guests staying. Big thumbs up from us."

"My wife & I stayed at the Kynrock Hotel & Resorts in Kataragama on 14th February during our bi-annual visit to Kataragama. We had a wonderful time at this lovely hotel, Kynrook in Kataragama. I was told that the hotel had started during August 2025. When you entered the hotel, it looks like a classical American hotel. When you enter first you will see classic swimming pool. We came on time and the staff's warm welcome made us feel at home. The room was ready when we arrived. We were on the 3rd floor, and the room is fairly larger than I expected. Rooms were clean, spacious, and had lot of space. It has all the amenities we needed. There are plenty of plug points in the room which would be useful for different work simultaneously. I was highly impressed with architectural design of the room. The price is very reasonable. The rooms facing a large paddy field were very beautiful and the lobby for each room is facing the paddy field. The room service was excellent. The food was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay in Kataragama. When I go to Kataragam next, I will never stay at any other hotel other than Kynrock. An added advantage is its proximity to Udawalawa National Park."

"Fabulous, calm, eco-friendly place. The 'tents' are under permanent shelters with shower rooms and AC. Food is grown on site and the meals are amazing, especially the fish curry. We got up early for a 90 minute tour of the ground spotting birds and butterflies with the naturalist guide who was very knowledgeable. Incredible boat ride on the reservoir to see stunning birds and a swimming wild elephant, with snacks and tea provided by the hotel. We were only there for 1 night but it was unforgettable."

"It was a magical travel experience. It was nine o'clock in the evening when we arrived at the campsite. The jeep was bumpy for more than ten minutes and I almost felt sold. After arriving, I discovered a new world. In addition, we didn't eat. Although the taste of BBQ was average, When you are eating, you will be accompanied by many small animals when you lower your head. When you raise your head, you will see the starry sky, which is very atmospheric."

"This is a lovely lodge where you stay in tented accomodation. The camp has a real safari feel to it. The food was really good and all meals and drinks are included. Also included is an afternoon and morning drive for each night that you stay. The Yala National Park is split into two blocks as far as the safari from this camp is concerned. While the camp is close to the park one of the blocks is a bit of a drive from the camp, the other is much closer. The closer one is a nicer and quieter. You will probably get chance to do both blocks. This is not Africa but you will see lots of elephants, monkeys, mongoose, deer, birds and crocodiles. Sadly we did not see any leopards or sloth bears. All meals are taken outside (weather permitting) and it is very atmospheric at night. We had a really good BBQ one night. They set the tables up in different spots around the camp which is nice. The bar is open before dinner but closes early so it is off to bed once dinner is finished. Meals are at set times and everyone eats together so it is very sociable. The tented rooms are great and have everything you need. The bathroom has an outside shower. There is also a small pool to relax around. We stayed for 2 nights which I would recommend as if you only stay one night it can be a bit of a rush and you do not get much time in the camp. Some other guests who only stayed for one night commented on this. However 2 nights is probably just about the right of time. Would recommend."

This is brilliant value, close to the park entrance, tastefully decorated, great food and helpful staff who organised the safari for us. Would recommend."

"Peaceful location and outstanding service. We booked two double rooms but were thoughtfully upgraded to spacious family rooms to accommodate a large arriving group — and we were never disturbed. Each room was large, spotless, and comfortable, with two double beds and an efficient AC. We were also granted an early check-in even though official time is 14:00. We requested vegetarian rice-and-curry for lunch since we were visiting the Kataragama Maha Devalaya in te evening — the meal was wholesome, home-cooked and delicious. Lunch was à la carte; breakfast and dinner were buffet-style and well presented. Driver quarters are available (first-come, first-served). The staff were friendly and courteous throughout. Special thanks to Ms. Anusha in the restaurant for her helpful, refreshingly positive attitude. Overall — a very pleasant stay; highly recommended."

"Fantastic glamping site with super friendly staff. A highlight was a nature walk with Solomon - a great ambassador for Sri Lanka wildlife, and very knowledgeable. This was the perfect end to our day of safari. Would definitely recommend!"

"For starters, it's nowhere near ella , ella or the nearest town, which is wallawaya, is a good half-hour to 45-min drive . If you have your vehicle, it's fine... if not, there isn't anything close by , absolutely nothing . The property is nice , rooms are good, air-conditioning was not great , not maintained, I guess ... overall location is good. However service sucks big time, with inedible food that is dished out with arrogance , take it or leave it attitude, the person who called him self the chef doubles as a room cleaner, pool cleaner, and makes him self too comfortable, randomly comes in and sits on the sofa etc.. This person does not know how to cook. We were served watery bbq meat, cold sausages for breakfast , and absolute garbage ! Sadly, there isn't anything around the corner, even if you're hungry. Left frustrated and hungry with kids ! There are 3 staff members to manage two properties in the same compound . Basics like cutlery always locked up , each time we requested something there were always reasons given . the two ladies tried their best to fulfil , but sadly, service and food way below par. Dont be fooled by the extensive menu online - for the same to be cooked by a so-called chef who doesn't know the difference between a potatoe or an onion Linen , towels not changed either for a 2 night 3 day stay . No privacy , there is always somebody watching you on the camera's"
