"Staying with Claudia and Carlo is so familiar, feels actually like coming home in Italy. The best place to stay when exploring the Sienna, Terre di Sienna, Monterigioni and Val d’Elsa regions. We had the chance to stay in their most beautiful room this time. From our room we saw Sienna nearby. Every room in this house is cool thanks to the thick walls, no airco necessary. Inside and outside the house, it is all well-kept. Beautiful flowers everywhere. The little town of Fungaia only offers you silence and great hiking and biking trails. Breakfast was served in the beautiful garden, in the shade of a parasol, well placed by Carlo. By accident, we managed to see the fireflies in their garden by the pool one night. A truly unique experience. We had dinner at Bar dell'Orso just outside of Monterigionni"

"We booked two nights at an absurdly high price. The property is abandoned: the staff is nonexistent, no one answers their phones. Upon arrival, I asked for two extra pillows, and they brought them dirty and wrinkled as if it were the most natural thing in the world... for breakfast, we got two croissants and some stale bread (only because we asked, otherwise not even that). The worst thing was that when we returned to our room this afternoon, we found the door—which we had locked—open and the bed hadn't even been made!"

"The village of Strove is tiny and charming. It's located a couple of kilometers from Monteriggioni along the Via Francigena. The five-star rating is due to the excellent value for money and the kindness of the management. The rooms are also beautiful and comfortable. What could be improved is the breakfast, which isn't bad but isn't a buffet, so there's a lack of choice. There are few savory options available upon request. The restaurant isn't special either: good but a bit pretentious and expensive, with only decent dishes. Overall, a great experience!"
