"Stayed for four nights as a base for visiting the Brittany coast. Quite a few positives. Location was very good. Auray itself is a beautiful little harbour town with a very interesting history. The hotel is well positioned for visiting lots of beaches within around 30 minute drive. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, and the little swimming pool area was nice and well maintained. However, there were quite a few things which could be improved, especially for a three star hotel. The decor of the bedrooms is very dark and the lighting, particularly in the bathrooms, is not adequate. We found that there was a bad smell, perhaps the drains, in the room which was difficult to get rid of. Although a kettle and some drinks were provided, this part of the room was not cleaned or refreshed, which meant we ran out of drinking cups and tea bags. Also the toilet paper is very poor quality and rough. The duvet was excessively thick, which meant, although there was Air Conditioning, the duvet was too hot for the room, and thinner duvets were not available. Finally, the communal areas are only lit properly till around nine in the evening. As we were travelling in a group, there was nowhere to sit in the evening when we returned from dinner. Although each of these are a small things and we had a very nice time in the area, it meant that the stay did not feel particularly comfortableand we would not return."
