We had such a lovely stay at Villa Shion Biei. It’s not a hotel, but a beautiful private house, which made the whole experience feel extra cozy and special. The villa was clean, spacious, and very comfortable—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The surroundings were stunning, especially with all the snow. It felt like staying in a peaceful winter wonderland, and we had so much fun playing in the snow right outside the house. Everything was well-prepared, and the stay felt very private and homely. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, beautiful place to enjoy the snow and nature in Biei.

They rent out the BBQ grill for free. It was great with the atmosphere, but be careful as insects come in at night. The room was large and easy to use. I rented a car, so it was 5 minutes by car to the blue pond, 3 minutes by car to the waterfall, and 10 minutes by car to Tokachidake Mogatakedai! There is also a parking lot, and there is a space to park in front of you. There is no bathtub, but I think it would be nice to use a day trip hot spring because it is a hot spring town nearby.

Very beautiful accommodation environment, the master's intention can be seen in the details. The room was clean and tidy, the breakfast was Western-style, and Hokkaido milk was delicious. Just beside the Ken&Mary tree, walk to the Meilong Station for 30 minutes, take a taxi for 970 yen, and also fight for the first stop on the road. Staying for two days, the first day happened to have a navel offering in Furano, so I rushed to Furano. After the event, I took the last JR car back to the United States. Before the departure, ask the landlord about how to call a taxi at night. The landlord told us that if there is no car, you can call Mr. Fang to drive to pick up. Unexpectedly, after leaving the station at night, there are still many taxis waiting outside the station, which is very pleasant. On the last day, take a taxi to Asahikawa Airport and the fare is 3,130 yen, which is acceptable.

15-20 mins walk to Asahidake ropeway. Self catering with lots of space and utensils to cook. Lots of fridge and freezer space. We brought food in advance but they do have things there you can buy like Tinned fish, pasta, tinned veg, frozen veg, frozen meats, various snacks and drinks etc. It was kept super clean. The insen was great with an outdoor pool. Rooms were quite basic but were clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful too !! There's coin laundry which we needed. Also a table tennis table which was a nice addition!

Because all the rooms were fully booked, I chose a dormitory room with eight beds. The beds were all large, and I didn't feel cramped even when sitting. The bathroom is public; if you shower early, you can have one to yourself. I was worried about showering at the same time as others, so I showered early. The toilets are large, and there are laundry facilities; laundry detergent costs 100 yen. Even in the rooms, the bathroom and toilet are shared. The staff were very helpful and nice. You can order their dinner, but I brought my own. There's a shared kitchen for cooking, and a refrigerator for storing food, but it was already crammed full.

Overall, it was okay. However, I have one thing to mention. The check-out time listed on the website was before 10:00 AM, but the management came at 9:05 AM to rush us out. The reason was that the hotel's weekday check-out time is 9:00 AM. So, within 10 minutes, our family stuffed everything into their suitcases without even packing. We then checked out at 9:15 AM. The receptionist then charged us an extra 1,000 yen per person for a late check-out fee, totaling 3,000 yen. I personally felt bad. The website clearly stated a 10:00 AM check-out time, but when we actually checked in, we were ”forced” to check out at 9:00 AM. Although this was explained at check-in, I'm not familiar with (or should I say, unable to understand) Japanese. This really gives me a bad impression of both the hotel management and TRIP.com's service. It seems like they're talking to each other because they don't understand the language.
