"Just returned from our stay at the Planet Hollywood and have mixed feelings.  There were some excellent aspects… but also a few areas for improvement!  Let’s start with the good stuff: Edu (bartender at the lobby bar) was a STAR.  Trust him to make your drinks, just tell him the flavor or preference for liquor) and he will spin you up something completely magical!! We LOVED spending our nights sitting at the bar watching Edu make peoples evenings.  We also loved the included watersports like paddleboarding and kayaking ( unfortunately the big water tricycle was out of order).  The Fuel Coffee bar is also a fabulous addition and great place to escape the heat for a cold coffee.  Now, the negatives - the front desk staff was pretty subpar and didn’t seem to communicate very well - one girl was actually very rude when I was trying to sort out a room situation and I wish I got her name.  The pool drinks are SO bad.  Not sure what type of bottom shelf alcohol they use at pool bar, but we tried so many different drinks and they were all disgusting.  The only thing somewhat drinkable was the Mojito.  I ended up switching to non-alcoholic drinks after day 1 and they were much better at the pool.  Did my real drinking at the lobby bar with Edu in the evenings.  Otherwise, the room was clean - resort was nice and entertainment was entertaining.  The food was decent but the buffet was SO hot and humid without any air conditioning. Overall, this was far from the best all inclusive experience I’ve had, but, we still made the most of it and had a nice time."

"My family of four spent four nights at the Ritz—two at the beginning and two at the end of our Costa Rica trip—and it was a fantastic experience. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and exceptionally well run. We had strongly considered the Four Seasons, given its reputation for families, but ultimately chose the Ritz due to my Marriott status and points redemption. It proved to be a great decision. Roxen Suarez on the reservations team was incredibly accommodating, especially with last-minute changes to our travel dates. She also ensured our room was perfectly set up for a family of four, with both a sofa bed and a rollaway ready upon arrival. I had initially worried the hotel might feel too quiet or geared more toward couples, but the kids’ programming exceeded expectations. The kids loved activities like make-your-own pizza, bracelet making, and especially the nightly s’mores. One evening also included a stargazing session with an astronomy educator, who guided the kids through the night sky using high-powered telescopes—an absolute highlight of the trip. Service throughout the property was excellent. The team at the family pool was attentive and proactive, always ensuring lounges were set up with towels, water, and umbrellas, and quick to assist with food and drink orders. Down at the beach, the staff made it easy to enjoy the complimentary paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkeling equipment. Our butler (“Manzu”), Pablo, was highly responsive via WhatsApp, helping with everything from room requests to dining reservations and in-room service. I also had the chance to meet several members of the management team, including Rodrigo Fontenele, the Rooms Manager. Everyone was welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely focused on ensuring a great guest experience, always open to feedback and eager to help. A truly special property with an outstanding team."

"Amazing hotel with excellent service. Our guide Samuel made our stay fun and relaxing, and really helped us enjoy everything the property has to offer. The beach is quiet and feels wonderfully private—you can even see fish swimming in the ocean right beside you. There are plenty of activities, and breakfast at Café Rincón was outstanding. The food is incredibly fresh, and the spa has everything you could possibly want. Highly recommended!"
