"I recently stayed at the Courtyard Nanaimo and had a lovely experience. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with good coffee facilities—a nice touch to start the day. The location was perfect, close to the seaside and many great restaurants, making it easy to explore the area. The only downside was that parking wasn’t free, which was a bit disappointing. There was also a payment error where my card was charged multiple times, but the hotel handled it professionally and issued a quick refund, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would happily return! 4/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (would have been 5/5 with free parking!)"

There are 3 restaurants in the hotel, and I had a meal at Top Notch which had excellent burgers. Good value for business travelers especially during low season."

"The room is badly in need of renovations because the very old carpeted floor is uneven and bumpy. There is a smell in the room where I had to open the window to air. The bathtub hot water is just barely warm. A report to the receptionist on my 3rd evening.. who suggested I change my room. When I checked on the first day, the reception offered a room upgrade which I rejected after I went to the room because it was very dark and gave an uneasy feeling. This is probably the worst hotel on this trip in Canada where I have been for last one month."

"Although I requested room cleaning service in the morning, they didn’t do anything. Hence, I called the front desk around 5PM, and then he said it’s busy, so no time to do cleaning. If I didn’t call, I think I couldn’t even get a new towel. Also the homeless people walk around the parking lot and make noises."

The breakfast included was definitely the best part of the stay because it wasn't a continental breakfast but a freshly made egg omelet with sausage, waffles, bagels, and of course coffee or tea. The downside of the stay was being close to a busy road and traffic can be a little noisy."

"Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean. We needed extra towels and blankets and the night staff was mostly helpful in this way. The beverage machine was out of water - frustrating. The foyer should have a water dispenser or jugs of water with lemon and cucumber and ice just to help patrons feel more welcome and important, rather than a sink and tap that doesn't get cold. Continental breakfast was simple but adequate. The hallways are a bit confusing as the building is an odd shape. Couldn't figure out how to get inside from any area of the parking lots without having to walk the entirety of the outside of the building to the front doors."
