"As it happens to be the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea (held in 325 AD), I booked one night for a quick trip to Iznik. Seyir Otel offered a lovely clean room with all the necessary amenities (in-room bathroom, towels, slippers, hand wash, shampoo, body wash, water, coffee, tea kettle, mini fridge, lamp desk lamp, TV etc.) The weather was quite cool so I didn't turn on the air conditioner. There is a cafeteria on the 1st floor of the facility and a lovely garden/outdoor sitting area. The location is superb, right in front of Lake Iznik (I could see the lake from the window), and about a 10 minute-walk to the town center (the Small Hagia Sophia). Before departing, the ladies managing the space were very kind in helping me book transportation. It's a lovely neighborhood with trees, flowers, olive and pomegranate trees, shops, eateries. Besides the rich historic legacy, there are also quite a few outdoor activities to enjoy (kayaking, fishing, walking around the lake, etc.). The sunset by the lake is breath-takingly beautiful. The people of Iznik are very friendly. I would definitely like to return in the future!"

Zeytin Bahcesi Hotel

"When I booked into Zeytin Bahcesi early October, the place looked absolutely deserted. I really think I must have been the only customer for the night : the pool had not been cleaned, weeds everywhere around it, broken tiles. Strange, because it is a modern-looking hotel with great location at the lake, well laid-out rooms and stylish restaurant. I got room #202, a good-size room with all amenities that you would expect in an international business hotel : generous double bed with side tables, desk, wardrobe, decent WiFi and TV (I could only find 1 English Channel). View to the garden, full of olive trees. There is only 1 young man at reception and he seems to be there day & night. There is a trendy restaurant where you can have a beer and reasonable meal. It is also where breakfast is served in the morning : normally it starts late at 9am, but I asked for 8am and that was OK. B/fast could be a lot better, but, again, it probably is when the place is full."

"We lived in a Deluxe room (not standard). From the good: - location by the lake, these are the sunsets there :) - comfortable bed, - air conditioner, - normal furniture and condition of the room as a whole. From the bad: - the room is smoky (as smoking is allowed in the hotel), - dead plumbing (it’s not even old and is generally good, they just don’t take care of it), - the walls, both indoors and outdoors, seem to be made of paper, with the windows closed you can hear everything that happens on the street, the same goes for your neighbors. Wifi works. The Turkish breakfast is not very good, but you can eat something like eggs, bread and cheese. No coffee, only standard tea Summary - for one night and at a price of 35-40 euros somewhere, it’s not worth more."

"I chose this hotel according to the reviews in trip advisor.. But I think I must'nt trust them anymore.. The room is terrible. The bathroom door can not be closed. The kitchen smells are all in the room.. It is not taking fresh air. Everything is old and overused.. When I looked at the pictures I thought I will stay in a bungalo.. This is a second floor cabin.. Not a room.. Never choose this hotel. Very big frustration.."
