"Nice overall experience. Location extremely central and easy to get to many key places. The ryokan is clearly very used to foreigners. Overall a good experience but I was made fun of by a staff for not knowing some of the ryokan rules (I can understand Japanese but I cannot speak it well). This was the only thing that was a bit embarrassing. The breakfast and dinner were both amazing. I would highly recommend this place."

"We had a wonderful stay at Ryotei Hanayura in Noboribetsu. The service was warm and attentive from check-in until we left, and the ryokan itself was peaceful and beautifully maintained. One thing that pleasantly surprised us was that you don’t need to change into the provided yukata for dinner or breakfast. Many ryokans encourage or require it, but here you can simply wear your own comfortable clothes if you prefer. The kaiseki dinner was one of the highlights of our stay. Every course was beautifully presented and showcased fresh seasonal Hokkaido ingredients. The pacing was just right, allowing us to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed. It truly felt like a fine dining experience. Breakfast was equally impressive. It was a traditional Japanese breakfast with a great variety of dishes, from grilled fish and rice to small side dishes that were both delicious and satisfying. It was the perfect way to start the day before exploring Noboribetsu. Overall, Ryotei Hanayura delivered an authentic ryokan experience with excellent food, relaxing onsen facilities, and outstanding hospitality. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Noboribetsu."

"Huge onsen hotel with public sharing on the hot spring. Decent tatami room for a couple and the room is quite rundown. Many varieties of serving foods and drinks for breakfast. Walking distance to shopping areas, eateries and main bus station."

"Hotel with hot spring. Some might think the hotel is dated, but it is a hot spring hotel with various bath. Only drawback I can think off is buffet dinner could be better given the price. Its a balance between convenience and getting to town for some of the restaurant. But otherwise a good hotel for relaxing onsen holiday"

"This hotel was a significant part of our honeymoon. Firstly, we were already familiar with Bourou's service as we stayed at their Lake Toya hotel a year ago, so we were confident everything would be excellent. Secondly, we had long dreamed of visiting Noboribetsu specifically, but preferred to be closer to nature rather than right in the town center. In this regard, the hotel's location is ideal: it's a 15-minute walk to the bus station, the same to restaurants and souvenir shops, and you can even take a "roundabout" path to the valley by starting the route from the end (which is right behind the hotel). Nature is right on your doorstep: deer roamed beneath our windows, and an owl kept watch near the public onsen in the evening. The room is very spacious, with relaxation areas, a work desk, an armchair by the window, and most importantly, a private onsen! It's connected to the shower and essentially on a covered balcony, but it always has warm flooring and the perfect spring temperature (around 42 degrees Celsius). The kaiseki dinner is 100% worth choosing. Of course, the breakfasts with numerous dishes are also impressive (there are European and Asian options, which I think alternate daily), but the evening kaiseki is incredibly delicious and an enlightening experience. By the way, there's a lot of food, so you can easily skip lunch (though you can order it to your room during the day for an extra charge). The cuisine is Japanese-French, and the presentation is unbelievably beautiful. The public onsen is small, but I was always alone there and never crossed paths with anyone. It has a cold plunge, a sauna, a hot plunge, and an outdoor plunge with views of a mini-garden and lounge chairs. It was lovely to receive a small anniversary souvenir from the hotel, welcome treats, and mini-cosmetic sets. ❤️ Bourou might be pricier, but it's incredibly authentic in its design and service – it's a fantastic experience that is highly valued in Japan. It's clear the hotel is many years old, but the meticulous care for everything is also noticeable: from the book selection in the library to the alcoholic beverage pairings with dinner. Sachiko, who attended to us during our breakfasts and dinners, especially left a lasting impression. ❤️❤️ What a wonderful experience of support and conversation; we were so happy to have met her! I will definitely return here again!"

Takinoya Bekkan Tamanoyu ★★★★
"A wonderful hotel in Noboribetsu, highly recommended! Booking and check-in were very easy, and the staff explained everything clearly. We were given a printed sheet with dinner and breakfast times, as well as information about where everything was located. Dinner was amazing. You can choose one of three main dishes, and the meal itself is very generous. We spent almost an hour eating because there was so much food, and everything was delicious. After dinner, we went to the hanabi festival. It turned out that in summer Noboribetsu Onsen has a festival on certain days, where you can watch a beautiful demon show. It was really impressive! Breakfast was also excellent and very tasty. In addition to the main dishes, there is a self-service area where you can take extra food. The onsen was wonderful. At first, we wanted to try the private onsen, so we booked it in advance by email for 50 minutes. Inside, there are two baths, which was very nice, and one of them is outdoors. The public onsen has a similar setup, with both indoor and outdoor baths. Everything you might need is provided, including creams, lotions, foot massagers, and other amenities. The location is excellent: only about 15 minutes by bus from Noboribetsu Station. The bear park is also nearby, and Hell Valley is about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel is clean, pleasant, and beautifully combines modern comfort with a traditional atmosphere. We would be very happy to come back!"

"Yumoto Onsen is a very good place to relax, with a nice location surrounded by nature. The area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for people who want to escape busy tourist spots. It sits in the mountains near Lake Yunoko, giving beautiful scenery in every season. The hot spring itself is excellent, with natural sulfur water that feels very relaxing after a long day. Many ryokan offer traditional Japanese rooms and authentic meals, making the stay more special. Overall, Yumoto Onsen is a good choice if you like calm atmosphere, fresh air, and scenic views. It may not have many shops or entertainment, but that is part of its charm."
