"It was good to say that the jacuzzi was with green water and smells very badly... and that for four days of stay we had only a toilet paper roll and four bath gel samples... there was no daily cleaning service. We should pay for this, and at least restoring this kind of things should be free, because it is basic. The internet was bad, no one did see TV. But I would come back, a beautiful and clean room."

"The room was very noisy (indoor that clacked) and a large fluorescent panel in the room to indicate the toilet (so lighted all night) which prevented us from sleeping. But well, for €35 it was good. Ps: watch the shower that glides! "

"Stopped for a one night sleep at this boutique hotel which seemed more like an apartment as it had also a kitchenette included. Parking available opposite the hotel. I would prefer staying on ground level as the other level would require carrying a suitcase up one level. Room was clean, great ac and wifi, and cannot complain. Breakfast was not available but plenty of choices outside."

"Fab little boutique type hotel in the centre of Vila Nova de Milfontes. Walking distance to everything. Spotlessly clean, lovely bed linen, great shower, very nice breakfast and lovely friendly staff. No bar or lounge area but the room had a generous balcony and coffee machine."

"We stayed for a few nights in February at the Naturate Rio (one of two locations) - weather wasn't great but we still greatly enjoyed our stay. Our room faced the back of property and we could open the windows or sit outside and listen to the birds with a view of trees. This property does not have breakfast (although you can order a basket of breakfast to be delivered to you for an extra cost); however, we used the kitchen to make our own breakfast each morning. There is a pool on site and some hiking trails that are very quiet - we enjoyed the hike down to the river. There are a few farm animals on-site as well. The room was spacious and very comfortable. I would highly recommend for a relaxed stay."

"When I think of B&Bs, I can't help but think of dusty houses with creepy dolls. (likely from a bad experience in Napa Valley years ago) This was NOT my experience at Guarda Rios. The B&B itself is bright and modern as well as very well located. Our room was probably the most immaculate space that I have ever stayed in a hotel. It was also quiet and peaceful. The staff was very helpful and friendly, particulary Maria who secured us a same day reservation at Tasca Do Celso, a fantastic restaurant. I highly reccommend that tourists exploring the Atlantic Coast visit Vila Nova de Milfontes on the Alentejo Coast and stay at Guarda Rios."
