Roundhouse Motel
"Friendly staff, room & bathroom was a little dated but clean & comfortable, it was a quiet area and we were able to park undercover. We had dinner at the restaurant which was great and ordered hot breakfast which was fine. Not sure what is going on in carpark as it was all dug up so it was a bit dusty."
Black Jack Get-A-Way
"Orroroo is a pleasant town for a night or two’s stopover and the Black Jack Get-A-Way cabins are really comfortable places to stay. The cabins look like they were built in the late 1960s from a prefabricated design and are really 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom houses. As such, they have a real 1960s vibe in their fittings and furnishings. Whilst they may appear dated, the cabins are perfectly functional, clean and comfortable. In fact, they are so well equipped you could easily move in and live there. Sufficient provisions are left for guests to make a substantial continental breakfast and other facilities such as a washing machine are appreciated. Whilst all contact with Susan was by email or text, she was responsive, timely and helpful in her responses. Certainly I would recommend these cabins for short or longer term accommodation in Orroroo."
Peterborough Motel
"This is a little place, within walking distance of the main drag. Each of the 6/7 rooms have a little front porch and each is separated from the other by nice, large creepers. You need to park your car head first, right up to the little table and chairs as parking is very tight here. The room was a generous size with a little kitchenette thing with microwave, toaster and kettle, small fridge, with crockery and cutlery in drawers. There was a vinyl 2 seater couch, small table and 2 chairs. The TV was smallish and high on the wall. The bathroom was a nice design but for some reason, the vanity cupboard was blocked off. This made it difficult to put things anywhere. I’m not sure if we got a renovated room as the timber furniture was old and scratched and the bed linen not great although there were nice fresh towels. The carpet had some stains on it but was pretty clean otherwise, as was the room in general. There was only one bedside lamp and that didn’t work. The lighting in the room was too dim to read by. There was a good air conditioner. The booking in process was very professional and helpful. All up, it was a basic little place but comfortable and clean."
Jacka Brothers Brewery
"My husband is a MTB rider, and I am not. So when I was just riding my bike around the roads I stumbled upon this beautiful brewery, and brought him to it to have a look. It’s magnificent! The history is incredible, and the manager and staff’s knowledge is amazing and everyone is so friendly. They do lovely cocktails and wood-fired pizza too. We ate outside and the ambiance was really pleasant. They are obviously bike friendly, so you can just ride the 5 minutes to the caravan park and park your bike on their stand. Well done everyone 🙌"
Bendleby Ranges
"We had a long weekend getaway with bunch of 8 adults and 7 kids/youth. Our campsite was in the hidden valley, just us and the very serviceable long drop! A great space for the number of people we had. We travelled up to sunset ridge on the Friday evening with a BBQ, snags, a couple of beers and a great view of the sun setting over the surrounding 360o views of the valleys. Over the remainder of the long weekend we explored the 4WD track which were excellent! The inclusion of firewood was a real bonus and saved us messing about. I highly recommend a trip to the Bendleby Ranges and Charlie & Kylie were great communicators and hosts."
