"Old World Charm on the Lidder River Pahalgam is about a 2hour drive south of Srinagar, and Pahalgam Hotel sits right at the edge of the town’s busy market. Fair warning , the entrance is easy to miss. It’s small and quite discreet, almost hidden against the noise and colour of the bazaar. But step inside, and everything changes. The contrast is immediate and wonderful. Arriving at the Hotel Once you’re through the entrance, the market crowd and noise simply disappear. You’re greeted by a large, beautifully maintained lawn, the sound of the Lidder River nearby, and the calm of a property that has been welcoming guests for over a hundred years. That sense of stepping into a different world is one of the hotel’s best qualities. Rooms and Facilities The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large washrooms that are a pleasant surprise at this price point. Most rooms look out over the Lidder Valley, and that view is genuinely magical ,the river below, forested slopes all around, and clean mountain light filling the room each morning. The hotel also has built in water heaters in the rooms, which is a practical and much appreciated feature when Pahalgam evenings get cold. The lawn is lovely ,wide, well-kept, and perfect for a quiet evening walk or a morning cup of tea with the valley spread out in front of you. The Food This is where Pahalgam Hotel really shines. The food is excellent, and that’s true across the entire menu. Whether it’s a simple fried egg at breakfast or a tandoori trout at dinner, everything is cooked carefully and tastes just right, not overdone, not under seasoned, just balanced and honest. The Lidder Valley trout is a must try. Fresh, light, and beautifully prepared. For a hotel at this price, the kitchen punches well above its weight. Value for Money This is not a five star luxury property, and it doesn’t pretend to be. What it offers instead is something harder to find ,a hundred year old heritage hotel with a stunning riverside location, comfortable rooms, great food, and warm hospitality, all at a very reasonable price. You leave feeling like you got far more than you paid for. Final Verdict Pahalgam Hotel is one of those rare places that stays with you. Unpretentious, genuine, and beautiful in the most natural way possible. If you’re heading to Pahalgam, this is where you should stay."

"We had gone for the trip on march mid week and the planning was started from January itself. After so any checking we come to know about this property in Google and find it was a nice one with all amenities and good views. I have called feroz bhai on January itself and discussed the same with him. We [3 families of a total 13 members including kids] stayed there on march 20 & 21 [2 days] there and as per his suggestion we booked 6 rooms with good rates, and given some advance payment for that also. I have seen some photos of that property online and booked by that, as we have arranged all by our self rather than any agency we had a doubt about the place. But when we reached there it was very beautiful than the one in photos, all the views from there was just amazing. I will definitely recommend this place with our experience and no one had any issues there. And the river was just flow right side of the property"

"The hotel is situated in the market center so it was very convenient to walk around. We had the most incredible view from every single window in our room!!! Absolutely delightful to see the peonies in full bloom, the lush green landscape with beautiful horses peacefully grazing, the thunderously blue waters of the Lidder river and the snow capped mountains surrounding us. The staff were very kind and helpful! The almond butter trout was superbly delicious. We had a great time at the hotel. However we did have to air out the rooms to remove a musty smell and the bathroom was a bit dusty."

"Stayed at Mount View, Pahalgam during our Kashmir trip booked through Kashmir Express and unfortunately the experience at this property was disappointing. The rooms had a noticeable damp/stale smell, likely due to moisture and rains, making the stay uncomfortable. Basic hospitality essentials were also missing — no napkins/tissues provided, inconsistent hot water supply, and overall room upkeep did not meet expectations for the tariff charged. What was more disappointing was that despite raising concerns, there was no proper upgrade or immediate resolution available at the hotel. Kashmir is beautiful, but comfortable stays and basic hygiene standards matter a lot when travelling with family. Hope both the hotel management and booking partner improve guest experience going forward."
