"Stayed for two nights on Sunday and Monday. The hotel facilities are too old. It is recommended to consider updating the door locks on the glass doors. When I was admitted to a room facing the garage, I opened the curtains and saw a large pile of iron. The hotel costs for these two nights are not expensive, so the difference is not too big. The location is great, only a 10-minute walk to the pier and a few minutes' drive to the supermarket."

The view is wonderful, even in the torrential rainstorm that drenched the area our last 24 hours in New Zealand. Inge is a wonderful host, gracious and informative. If we ever have the opportunity to return to Paihia, we’ll definitely want to book a stay at Chalet Romantica."

"A brilliant stay! We were welcomed by our hosts Heinz and Brita. Our top floor suite had amazing views over the bay. We watched the sun rise and saw the Southern Cross. Fabulous breakfast offering lots of choice - with the very best poached eggs expertly cooked by Heinz. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We had an excursion cancelled but Brita very quickly organised another trip for us. Allegra House is close to all the amenities and shops at the lovely resort of Paihia. We are very happy to recommend."
